I think that means it's out of NBC?..
I've heard mixed reviews. Because someone said that local offices request cases WELL in advance like a couple months out so they can handle scheduling, then it sits on the desks till they get to it.
I say call the line if you REALLY have to know if it's moved like Jackie because she's moving.

I just wanna know cause i am nosy.  lol  I don't expect an interview for a few months.  South Florida!!!!!

Hey everyone,

We had our AOS interview today and everything was fine up to the point where we’re talking nit pickyness. So, the interviewer wants to see my passport with my entry stamps into Japan. I have a new one because the previous one with the entry stamps is expired. There’s no point in carrying an expired passport. Then she wanted to see pictures? I showed her some pictures on our phones, but she wants copies of them.

Aside from that, she didn’t have a problem approving us provided that we can send those in. Provided us with an evidence send in. I assume this is an RFE

What baffles me is that our interviewer didn’t have a paper copy of the K-1 that she says she should have received but has not. The K-1 application has my entry stamp scan in it.

Anyway, we just send this in and it sounds like an approval. The interviewer didn’t ask very much questions. I guess the annoyance is that what she’s asking for is irrevelvant to an AOS. Wanting to see entry stamps? Pictures I just showed on our phones isn’t good enough? Really? You don’t have the K-1 file?

You need to get off the high horse here.

They can ask whatever they want and the burden is on you to provide it. Yes it can sound picky or being against you, but that person might not be working there when you ROC or etc so they need proof of your relationship.

Pics on the phone is not good because they want to keep it on file, so they can use it at the next step. Those files won't disappear and can/will be used down the road....

Just send in what they were asking and don't be upset about it. For ROC prepare a bit more and this won't happen.

It says this system cannot provide you case status at this time. But online it says your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Any clue what this means.

That their system is BAAAAD... You are fine. I am in the same situation. If you call and the system says it cant find your case you can get to an operator( u need to wait tho) who will be able to pull up your file ....

Uh, excuse me. There is plenty to be upset about when a bureaucrat that you and me pay tax dollars (and pay additional fees!) for and doesn’t properly do their job. We shouldn’t accept substandard and/or inefficient service.

And it doesn’t actually matter if this bureaucrat is still working there or not when we come back for ROC. Every agent in a department needs to put trust that the previous person who worked and approved a file did their job and not second guess their judgement.

I demand better. I pay them.

1 John 5:14-15 New Living Translation (NLT)
14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

Hello All,

I would like to first of all thank and Praise Jesus Christ for granting us our Green Card.
We have been waiting for 11 years and finally, God granted our request in His time.  Praise God!

Our Field office was Hartford Field office.

I thought Hartford field office was a slow field office and was planning to move to another state where the timings are fast.
But God's plan was even better.  He gave me interview in Hartford field office itself.

Our time lines
 1. July 02, 2018  Mailed the I 485, I 131, I 765 for me, wife and son(3 years)

 2. Biometrics Appointment(Walk In) , July 25, 2018

 3. Nov 02, 2018 -  I 765 and I 131 approved for me and my wife

4 Nov 14, 2018 -  Got the combo cards in mail for me and my wife

 5. Nov 16, 2018 -  Son's I 765 and I 131 is approved. {but card never came]

6 Nov 22,2018 -  I 485 - Case Ready to be scheduled for the Interview

 7. Nov 26, 2018 -  Interview Scheduled

 8 . Dec 01, 2018 - Interview letter received

Praying: To get a kind IO and make the interview smooth

 9. Jan, 2019 -  Interview
--  Got the Kindest IO possible.
             --  Approved on the Spot
-- Got the plastic cards on the 5th day

Interview Experience (Employment Based)
--------------------

Me, wife and son came to the office around 9:25 AM.  9:30 was the interview.
Very nervous.  Went to the reception and gave the appointment letters.  After some time, the receptionist called again for taking the photos.
He mispronounced my last name. Went there and gave the driving license and he took the photo.   After that took the wife's photo.
Came back to the waiting area and sat.

Few minutes went by. Son wanted to play with our wedding rings. I took the rings from him and he started crying.
Lo and Behold! An officer is standing  in front of us and he was looking playfully at my son.
I initially thought, the officer came there to scold me as my son was crying.

In fact, that was our IO!

He didn't call our names. He had our photographs and he came to find us in the waiting room..
He escorted us to his office.
We were still nervous.
The IO understood that and told that he know that we have a small child and he will try to make it short and sweet as possible.
IO also told that children under 14 are not required to attend the interview.
We wanted to point out some corrections. He noted them down.
He asked the basic questions in I 485 to both of us.
Then asked how long I have been working with the Company and my salary.
He then verified whether a visa number is available.  He said it is available and told that he is approving the case right away!!!!
IO occasionally cracked some jokes to make us feel comfortable.
And praise God, we got the plastic cards in mail after about 5 days.

Only 1 minor problem happened:
The correction which we pointed out for my wife didnt actually get corrected in the Plastic Card. So, we have submitted an I 90 for replacing the card for my wife.

Other than that, everything went very smooth and God has granted us our prayer requests.  Thank you Jesus!
I also want to thank this forum and its members for providing valuable information for the entire process.

Interview went beautifully and like an hour later, CARD IN PRODUCTION! Yayyyy!

officer was so nice and easy to talk to. He asked us how we met, first date, where was the wedding, how many guests, where have we travelled, where do we live, birth dates, social, previous addresses, work history, very detailed. First time into the US? Which visa? History of entering the leaving the country, port of entry, schools I went to. Extremely detailed but that’s his job. Asked all questions on ineligibility. I will add, my hubby was laid off in December and the officer asked if he still worked at his old job. We told him the truth but he didn’t ask for a new affidavit or anything like that.

He then looked at our pictures, I had two albums, took like 5-6 pictures and done! He did tell us about the 2 years provision and when I can apply for citizenship and that it may take 2-3 months to get the card. Fairfax office is the best, we talked to some lovely security guards and happy going front desk people. Good luck y’all! I’m glad our journey is over for 2 years!

Hello Fellow July Filers,

I'm happy share with you all that my I-485 application got approved today.  I had my interview in Baltimore early in the morning. I had an approved I-130 (based on marriage to USC nearly 9 years ago) from Dec 2017 (Could not file I-485 concurrently because I had to complete my J1- waiver requirements). Since I had an approved I-130 our IO noted that I did not have to prove today that our marriage was bonafide and that it's already deemed bonafide when USCIS approved it back in 2017. I took a whole gamut of documents that were not necessary. The IO was very kind and generous. We had our 1st grader with us who was somewhat restless, but the officer was very accommodating. Basically, the officer reviewed the I-485 application with me including "yes/no" questions. I informed the officer that I had a speeding ticket since filing I-485 and offered the fine receipt. The officer simply made a note of it on the application. The interview lasted about 20 minutes. At the end of the interview, we received a generic letter stating that the USCIS will take up to 120 days to review my application. Most of the Baltimore filers on this forum seems have received similar letter. Even though my application is very straight forward, the officer never once uttered the term "approved" during or after the interview, which did cause some anxiety. By god's grace, I did not have to live with this anxiety far too long as I received a text message notification around 4:00 PM of the interview date "New Card Being Produced."

I want to thank all the fellow VJ members for your guidance and sharing your experience. This definitely has been a long journey for me. Those of you who are still waiting for the interview "I wish you the best." Be Best!

My timeline is as following:

12/12/2017: I-130 approved
7/25/2018: I-485, I-765, I-131 received
08/12/2018: Biometrics completed
08/23/2018: Ready to be scheduled for interview
11/26/2018: EAD and AP approved
12/4/2018: EAD in hand
01/2/2019: I-485 Interview Scheduled Notification Received
2/8/2019: Interview early in the morning @Field office for interview: Baltimore, MD.
At the end of Interview received generic notice that my cast must be reviewed.

2/8/2019: @4:00 PM received message "New Card Being Produced."
