Will your name be changing?

do they keep the old passport?

I didn't change my name.

they just punch two holes in the cover and i keep my old passport.

I just wonder if in the mysterious land of documents out there, my combo card will be attached to my old passport.

A card is not a visa so it won’t be attached to anything (for clarification: it is also not directly connected to your passport number if that’s what you mean by attached) I would carry both passports and marriage certificate (which either way the smart thing to do)

passports expire and people change it, it’s pretty common; it can cause problem if there’s a name change but if there’s no change then I don’t see any problems.

if you’re still worried making an infopass may help. But it is a rather common thing imo.

Hey, you're not the only one. They received my RFE response on Jan 2, 2019.

I called USCIS earlier today, because my EAD is about 19 days over the 6month processing time, and the agent said she pushed it forward and created an inquiry about it. She said I was gonna receive a reply through text or email within 15-30 days... soooo waiting again.

Then I asked about the RFE response and she said they would reply by Mar 1. soooooo more waiting!

Sooooo bored waiting to look get employed. hahahaha

My case details:

Filed July 9, NOA received Jul 11.

AP approved last November, everything else still pending.

RFE notice December, sent in the required documents by the end of the month

RFE response received by USCIS Jan2.

Do you mind sharing the number you called? I called the number that is on my receipts, but it was an automated system and I wasn't able to talk to an officer.

Hey all, I have my GC interview in a week. How long roughly do people wait after the interview to receive their GC in the mail? My wife and I are hoping to go back to Scotland asap afterwards. If we were to book soon after, and my GC hadn't arrived by the time we go, is my AP still valid to gain re-entry?

Call the automated number and follow the prompts to hear status about your case but dial the options that say you don’t know what the receipt number is. Eventually it’ll come out to an agent. :)

Thank you so much for your input, this process is so intense that we lose a bit of our sanity.

Finally got approval on my EAD! status changed to Card has been mailed to me today!

and then my case has been scheduled for interview, all in one night!

I know this question has probably been asked and answered several times but if we checked the box that said to get an ssn with the EAD, how does that process go?

Congratulations 🍾🎊- For the social security number it just means that the USCIS will process the request for the TAX aka SSN number through the SSAdmin for you. Should take 2-3 weeks processing

Congratulations, you might get the card a day after possibly, if the shutdown isn't affecting that.
