Hello, 

 

Has anybody Expedite EAD to file taxes?

 

We are wanting to amend the tax to file as jointly married and still waiting for the EAD to arrive to make this happen. 

August 26, 2017 - Married

February 20, 2018 - AOS Package Sent

March 02, 2018 - AOS Package Received

April 03, 2018 - RFE for income requirement

April 09, 2018 - RFE replied with 2017 filed income tax

April 25, 2018 - REF Received

August 22,2018  - EAD Approved

September 05, 2018 - Received noticed of interview scheduled

October 02, 2018 - Interview (Approved) 

October 10, 2018 - Green Card Received

Do you have a Social Security number?  That's what you need, not an EAD.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Nope, we were told to wait for the EAD since that comes with the social security number.

it's possible to file without an SSN, i've seen people us the W-7 form.

 

Anyway to obtain SSN number without the EAD?

You can manually file without a SSN. As you didn't obtain a SSN before you were married and applied for AOS, there is nothing to do but wait for EAD.
