Hi,

Hopefully, you all are having wonderful time. I am trying to fill out I-130 form for my wife. I am little confused about the question on page 8, part 5. It asks  " Have you ever filed a petition for this or any other alien, if you answered YES, please provide the name, place and date of filing and result"

I petitioned for my mother in 2011 by filling out I-130 and the petition was approved. I was able to find the filing date , but i am not sure about the place of filing.

What should i put for city or town,State?  Should it be the city or town of where the service center is at or where me/my mom was living at that time ?I have found conflicting answers. I will appreciate if you can shed some light on it

If you don't remember where you mailed the petition, you can just put the city in which you lived at that time.  Part of the result needs to include whether your mother is now an LPR or a Citizen.  If she's an LPR, she's part of your household count later when you do the affidavit of support.  If she's a citizen, she's NOT, unless she is also your dependant.

It's a leftover question from when you mailed the petition directly to a service center assigned to your state.  So, they are asking which service center, and asking poorly.  They are accustomed to getting imprecise answers.  With the name and approximated dates, they can see the answer for themselves.
