Recv'd I-797 Approval, now silence from NVC

Hello and good evening!

I'm exasperated trying to figure out how things are supposed to proceed when my case moves from USCIS to NVC. It feels as if things have fallen into a black hole! I'm sure it is all fine, but if anyone can fill in a few bits of info for me, I would appreciate it.

I received the I-797 Approval letter for my I-129F. The letter says everything will be forwarded to NVC and that I should be contacted by NVC within 2-4 weeks--but to allow up to 30 days to pass before contacting NVC.

30 days passed so I sent a message to the NVC email given on the I-797 (no phone number is given for NVC on that letter--at least that I could figure). I sent that message a week ago today, and have not even received an automated notice that a message was received (which seems like a standard business practice these days). After a few days past, I found the online Inquiry form on the NVC site and sent a message using that also. No response.

Meanwhile, on June 26, at my fiance's insistence (he is starting to feel desperate about the process, and so am I), I found the NVC phone number and called them up. They gave me the case number and said that the file had actually that day been sent to the Embassy in my fiance's country. All this seemed very encouraging.

They also told me that instead of a letter, I would receive an email with information about what to do next.

Yet still I have not received anything.

I plan to call again tomorrow to ask for clarification:

1. When will this email come?

2. What kind of instructions will it include?

3. When I try to access the Consular Electronic Application Center, it asks for my Invoice ID. What is this? How do I get it? How do I initiate the next steps?

4. Will the embassy contact my fiance when they receive our file? And how will they contact him?

5. Related to #4--How can I update my fiance's contact information? He moved within the past couple of days.

I haven't updated my timeline to show that the NVC has received our file because other than the phone conversation, I actually still haven't received notice.

Any insight or pieces of info or resources anyone can share will be helpful. Info on the NVC website leads me in circles and never seems to fill in any blanks for me on what concrete thing I am supposed to do next. I have consulted multiple resources about what forms I need to submit and how to best prepare them, but there is a gap here between USCIS and NVC--it is not clear to me how and when and where we can start submitting forms and jumping through the next set of hoops.

Thank you for any help anyone can give!

Go to the CEAC website and put your case number in there and see what it says. My fiance and I didn't get an email we just received package 3 in the mail.  CEAC website is pretty accurate with the info on it.

Thank you!

I have tried to log in to the CEAC website and it asks for an Invoice ID number. That is where I hit a brick wall, because I have no such number, and can't figure how to get it.

did you provide an email with you I-129F? Tomorrow is Monday and NVC opens at 7am eastern time. You call that number i just posted and ask for your NVC case#. With the case number you can login into the CEAC website to see if your case is ready at the embassy stage.
