Could anyone give any advices about medical vaccination certificate?

i know that it isn’t an obligatory requirement for K-1, but everyone advices to make the one here in Ukraine (it’s easier and cheaper). It will be needed for a green card.

I have my child’s certificate but I know that some vaccines have “expire date”. I’m curious where I can get this certificate and where I can be re-vaccinated?

Please share your experience!

I called the hospital where we will be undergoing the exam asking for a list of required vaccinations. They said "it's not required but we recommend to do it" and also said that only your doctor can tell you exactly what vaccination is required for your age and region. I have some old vaccinations and then my doctor said the latest should have been diphtheria at 18 y.o (I'm 22) and the next one will be diphtheria again at 23yo and that's all....hoping I won't have to do any extra in America.

if you are over 18 years old and you were born after 1954, you should have the following vaccinations: measles, rubella, parotitis (two vaccines each). they are made up to six years once, and repeatedly after six years old. if you are more than 18 years old and you did not have these vaccinations in childhood, then you do each one by one

Vaccination against diphtheria and tetanus is also necessary. this vaccine should be updated every ten years. if you have not received this vaccine for a long time, then it is carried out according to this scheme: the first vaccination, a month later - the second vaccine, after 6 months - the third. and then update every 10 years.

also need information about varicella. I read, that if you were sick in childhood with varicella, you can just say this and they will believe you (in IOM, not in US). but I was advised to donate blood and take the results

(  1) кір-краснуха- паротит по дві вакцини, 2) дифтерія-правець (столбняк) 3 шт, 3) вітряна віспа зі слів)

I sent my cloths, shoes, handbags, backpacks, some accessories, a lot of chocolate (and when I’m saying a lot I do really mean a lot), leather jewelry box, wedding invitations, leather wallets, topper for a cake and other stuff like this.

I prepared very detailed description but they told me that I should divide all stuff in 4 groups for each parcel and there was no need to waste time writing that detailed description. Notice that the cost of each parcel should be less than 150€. If it’s higher you are obligated to pay extra taxes (Ukrainian law).

I was thinking to just pack everything in one suitcase...did they tell you to pack in different boxes before or after you arrived at their office?

I called to their call-center and wrote them on Facebook :) I registered my parcels online - which helped to cut paper work (all customs fires were laid automatically) and got 5% discount (because I did that by myself). They even haven’t checked my parcels at the post office, just accepted them.

Where will I be able to get those vaccines? At IOM?

it is better to go to the Moscow site of the IOM, they explain the vaccine very well. unfortunately, I did not find the information on our website IOM. it is very important to get all the vaccines at home, otherwise your future husband will tell you that you are very expencive for him (I'm joking):jest:
but it is more expensive to receive all vaccines in the US. IOM must also provide you with an international certificate with your vaccines, American doctors do not believe our doctors, just IOM

From my experience: I lost my medical book that is why I had to look to the all places where were medical points. I took some part from my school, some part from college and some part from University. Looks too hard but if you have your medical book where doctors write all when you are ill -at the first page they write injections. You can take this book and at the local clinic they will write information about injections from this book on one paper with sign.

Its free and easy.

Ppl try to make them in their country because one injection at IOM costs around 80usd and at USA it depends from your insuarance case.

I am American and my fiancé is Ukrainian. We are planning to file for k1/k2 visa, but are concerned that her ex-husband will interfere with visas for the children. They are just recently divorced. Can anyone help me to plan for this worse case scenario?

Not very familiar with what you need for the kids in this process. If there’s a permit from father you’ll need to get, yeah might be complicated. Maybe she should try to get sole custody?

Quite simple, either you negotiate or go to court or leave kids behind. Kids over 16 do not need permit to travel, younger kids do. I am in the same boat, my son has just turned 13. And I, being a lawyer myself, can only pray that my ex is in good health  and consistent with what he says that he will let our son go. Yes, I have custody as per divorce decree but it requires notarized permit from dad. Courts are reluctant to rule in favor of mom if it's for immigration and not just travel. Negotiate, pay him settlement or pray, it really can be difficult and heart breaking. I discuss moving of our son to the US with my ex all the time I feel fit and try to not overdo. It helps. It specifically helped when we filed for K1 and he understood it's pretty serious. Hopefully once the petition is approved I'll take my ex to the notary because I will need that permit at the interview, the Embassy specifically requests it. And uddually the permit has validity term of 1 year. Be prepared to stand firm and get right to what he needs to let his kids go.
