Hi Wynona,

For my understanding: at what stage are you at? Did you do the payments?

So after you got an e-mail with you Case Number and Invoice Number, and you are PIVOT, you are able to pay both AoS and IV fees (stage #1
Then (stage#2) you wait few business days and after payments are processes (that you can see on CEAC portal) you do the following:

- upload AOS documents (both can do it, either petitioner or beneficiary): I-864, Tax Returns and W2
- fill out DS 260 (beneficiary, though petitioner also can do it, but it adds complexity in my opinion)
- upload IV documents (beneficiary or petitioner); it will be mentioned what to upload:

  • bio page of your passport
  • photo (a passport view photo, with certain requirements)
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • Police Certificate

You can add Additional Documents, e.g. Divorce Certificate (if applicable), some evidence of the relationship (some people do it, some don't), etc

CEAC is user friendly, you'll figure it out!

After - the hardest stage#3 - patiently waiting for the review.

Thank you for all these info! :)

So, I first paid the AOS fee then I just paid for the IV fee, it is now IN PROCESS.

Did you by chance have an ITIN for your spouse? Did you include that as SSN in the affidavit of support?

Hmm, I don't recall a question on ITIN in I-864; I put SSN for Social Security Number question.

ITIN (if I googled it correctly) is a tax processing number that is issued by the IRS for individuals who are not eligible for SSN, such as foreign national or nonresident alien.
I-864 requires SSN, and your husband should have it, he also indicated SSN in I-130.

I hardly doubt that ITIN will work for them, it starts with 9XXXXXXXX and NVC will spot a mistake and will do a checklist on you. I'm sure you don't want that.
But let's wait for other people thoughts. Anyone?

I have an ITIN for my spouse that I use for tax purposes. So I am not sure if I should include that on the document as his SSN. Thanks!!! This forum is so helpful.

No I don't, I'll ask my wife to send those to me.

You can ask her to send those or you can ask her to click that photo in her local photo labs and then scan that and email that to you.You can print that photo in that particular size in any photo labs. This is what I did.
