Abies and others,

How long does it take NVC to scan your mailed in documents once they receive them?

Does this take days or weeks to complete?

If ds260 was completed before aos/iv package was mailed out,it will take 1- 2business days

Hello everyone, congratulations to those that have gotten their case numbers,cc,interview dates and approval at the embassy.please i have a quick question, does the CO’s go easy on a military spouse during the interview?

Nothing really different but I feel some questions might pop up based on it and can lead to a quick/delayed AP

I believe the only 2 real concerns they have are:

#1 Is the immigrant likely to cause criminal problems in the US?

#2 Is the immigrant likely to become a public charge?

For #1, lack of past history and viable future plans is important.

For #2, be sure you or a co-sponsor can prove that you can financially support him or her for the next 10 years.

If your relationship is real, the sponsors have money, and there is no criminal affiliation, why worry? Just tell the truth.

#1 might be the main cause for alarm depending on the CO which will result in a short or long AP.

Seems you used a lawyer

Actually, we have no lawyer. That's why I was surprised.

Also, the email "National_Visa_Center@state.gov" was kind of skeptical to me. So I am not sure if this is legit?! But I was able to pay tho..... hmm.

Exactly. And as a high tax paying US citizen, I prefer likely criminals not be allowed in. As a future hard-working high tax payer, don't you?

At first, while withstanding the enormously long waiting lines and the ridiculous requests for duplicate documentation, I thought this process was one method for holding back people from entry to the US. But now, quite frankly, for those who can not afford to pay for an entry gone wrong and likely to use our taxes to support themselves due to an illfit petitioner, I am happy to wait my turn for the check s and balances to be considered. Really, a few more months is not that long to ensure the petitioner is sound.
