I pray we get it soonest tho.

Yea.. our interview is one week apart.

You can have the interview in London if you have a valid visa for the UK, what information did you put on your I-130 as to which Embassy you will use for Consular processing?

I don't think there was a question asking which embassy I will be using. I have my UK address as my current address, so I am assuming it'll automatically go through London? That's why I was confused.

Yes.. since your current address on the i130 petition is London, you will have your interview in London.

For those of you who have attornets, what do they say about how long NVC can prevent you from proceeding with your IV applications sunce CEAC has been down starting 19 July?

How long can this go on legally?

I feel my lawyer knows the nuts and bolts of filing paperwork, knowing the details of picking fiance vs spousal, the general path of the various ways of immigrating. His heart is in the right place of helping people in the immigration process. In terms of the bigger picture -- I feel he is 6 months behind in understanding what is going on currently. He frequently states that there is 'nothing malicious' going on, that the system is just overwhelmed, and that things will continue to go on, but maybe at a slower pace. I don't think my lawyer has any insight into, or desire to dig into or understand, legal implications of some of the increased barriers, including having a website down. I haven't asked him though --he only knew the website was down when I told him. I imagine that a lot of changes are uncharted territory, and I speculate that most lawyers just react to the change, rather the higher level thinking of questioning the change.

Alright. NVC took you both unaware lol.

Success to your husband.

They sure did hahaha. Ghana is  not like Nigeria we waited 6 weeks from CC to interview email. I know other Ghanaians that waited more than 8weeks. I  wish you success too and I can wait to meet you in person

That's so frustrating

Yeah. I definitely don't think it is intentional, and he really is trying to make sure that that every thing is done right. But it seems like the process is itself is draining to the point that every hiccup is painful.

There is a section in the Form I-130 that asks which embassy or consulate you will use. If you kept a copy of your I-130 before you sent it in, look at page 8, Part 4, section 62.a.-62.c. This is where you designate which U.S. Embassy or Consulate the beneficiary will use for consular processing.

Beneficiary Country: UK / Consulate: Sydney, Australia / Nebraska Service Center

27-Nov-2017 - Sent I-130 package to Chicago Lockbox

30-Nov-2017 (+3 days, 3 days) - NOA1, petition sent to Nebraska Service Center

28-Jun-2018 (+210 days, 213 days) - NOA2, petition approved

16-Jul-2018 (+18 days, 231 days) - Petition sent to Department of State

23-Jul-2018 (+7 days, 238 days) - Petition received by NVC (confirmed via phone on 24 July)
21-Aug-2018 (+29 days, 267 days) - Welcome Letter received by email, paid AOS and IV fee

23-Aug-2018 (+2 days, 269 days) - IV Application (Form DS-260), Civil Documents, Affidavit of Support, and Financial Documents all submitted to NVC on CEAC

7-Sep-2018 (+15 days, 284 days) - NVC Case Complete

18-9-2018 (+11 days, 295 days) - Interview scheduled, received notification from NVC via email - interview set for 16 October
