The White House is scrambling to figure out how a prank call from a comedian who pretended to be Sen. Robert Menendez managed to get a return phone call from the president, a person inside the White House said Friday.

If you haven't heard about this, the comic, Stuttering John (from the Howard Stern days) managed to call up the White House, pretending to be an assistant to Bob Menendez (with a made up name and a terrible waffling accent.. he didn't even try to pretend well and dropped his famous catchphrase a couple times). Within a few hours he spoke to Kushner and finally Trump aboard AFO. Meanwhile, all the staffers who he spoke to on the phone did very little to confirm his story, and one even casually within a few moments, revealed Trump's location. While talking to Trump (who he has known for years but did not recognize his voice) he pretended to be Menendez and had a conversation about immigration. The ease at which John managed to do this is pretty jarring and the entire recorded process can be listened to on his Thursday podcast.

 

This morning John says the secret service showed up at his house.
