Questions around applying came in on K1Visa- in and out of country question too

So, I am thinking about applying for citizenship. Just trying to get my head around all of this. From what I have read on here it looks like because I filed on a K1 Visa I have to again prove that we are indeed a couple. Why wouldn't the things I submitted for my Green Card be enough? Does this mean I can't file online because I need to submit all that paperwork again?

 

Also, I came from Canada and travel about 2-3 times a year to see family. I never wrote down the exact dates. Do we need to write exact dates? What if we don't know?

You only need to send relationship evidence if you applying via the 3 year rule.  You arent so you dont need to.  But you will need to figure out the exact dates of your entry and exits.

You can just look at ticket confirmation emails, those have dates on them.

 

Not sure how border control works between the US and Canada, but exit/entry stamps also have dates on them.

It sounds like you are applying with the 5 year rule, so all you need the approximate date. Of course it cannot sum up to less than the required 35 month or residence in the US and no more than 6 month absence per year at one time.

Unfortunately CBSA and the CBP are bad about stamping out passports.  But you can get your record of entry and exits online I think?  Check back through crackbook history?
