Expired green card & expired foreign passport

I'm a legal US permanent resident without conditions. And also a Dutch citizen. I discovered,  after loosing long term employment and checking all ID's,  in preparation for new employment,  that I let both my 10 year green card and foreign passport expire.

I have a valid state drivers license. I even have a valid FAA Airline transport pilots license. I also have a valid social security card.  However,  I never bothered to have the initial restriction on my social security card removed.

I checked E-verify and I'm legally authorized to work unrestricted in the US, see attachment below.

It's my understanding that the Dutch government will renew an expired passport but requires proof of valid legal US residency in the form of a non expired green card.

It's also my understanding that the US government will renew a green card but will not issue an I551 stamp in an expired passport.

Is there anything I can do to provide proof to prospective employers while filing the I90 before unemployment runs out as the process can take 9-11 months currently?

I should've checked and taken action before finding myself in this position! But is there anything I haven't thought off that I can do now and quickly?

Well...this is a serious of mistakes that have added up to the current conundrum.

You could have obtained an unrestricted SS card at any point once you got your green card. You cannot do so without a valid green card.

You could have renewed the green card before expiration.

You could have renewed the passport before expiration.

I don't know the rules on renewing a Dutch passport in the US, sorry. I'll take your claim at face value until there is evidence of it being incorrect.

You may be able to make an Infopass appointment and have them issue an I-551 stamp on a letter instead of the expired passport. This should suffice for both the I-9 and for the SSA to get an unrestricted SS card moving forward.

Talking to my Dutch hubby here....his reaction: You would have to go back to the Netherlands to renew your passport if you don't have a valid unexpired greencard. But if you do that, you have a problem coming back here.

1) Call the Embassy of The Netherlands in Washington, DC.  They were helpful to us before we drove up there to renew hubby's passport.  They are, however, quite strict and we saw them turn away more people than they helped at the office where they do passport renewals.  They might be able to accept things not listed in your snapshot above.  Before going for an Infopass appointment, call, explain and ask embassy what they would accept from that appointment.

2) Make that Infopass appointment

Side note: If you some day go for US citizenship, do NOT let your Dutch passport expire again.  If you become a US citizen and your Dutch passport expires, you automatically lose Dutch citizenship.

One other thing: I would apply for that I90 asap and do it online.  You would get a NOA quickly and I would bring that to Infopass.
