Hello All,

My wife interview was on June 19th. The time I was filing for her, 2 years ago, my income was very low. Afterwards, in 2017 I got a better job and had a far higher income. I submitted all my taxes in 2017. My wife took with her the new affidavit of support and all the documents for my taxes, employment letter etc. to prove that currently I have a better job to take care of my family and that I don't need a co-sponsor.

Unfortunately, the interviewer did not look at the new income evidence i.e. job offer letter, taxes for 2017 and my W2s and asked my wife that as my income is low (he was looking at my previously documents which I had submitted 2 years before the interview) they asked her that she needs a co-sponsor. As, I did not have a co-sponsor, I sent them my updated Job offer letter, 2017 w2 which has sufficient income listed and taxes filed in 2017. What I did not submit is a co-sponsor which they asked for. Will they consider my new income evidence or will they stick to their co-sponsor requirement. If they stick to their new requirement and decline my produced documents, what next? How long will it take to hear back from them.

Dee Elle, now I can tell why are you a gold member. Thanks for the quick reply.

I hope they will accept my new Affidavit of support as you also hoped. My wife current online visa status is READY. It says "You are ready to appear for interview...". Is it going to change to ISSUED if they accept my new documents or are they going to change to something else before it is posted ISSUED?

If not accepted, will they completely deny the case or will they re-ask for co-sponser again?

Thanks again.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My husband's interview coming up soon inshaAllah and I'm getting worried to hear.. it seems like the COs torture people on purpose. I had my own earned income so I don't need any joint sponsor. My income is almost $3000 extra than required. so I'm the petitioner & affidavit sponsor as well.  but I'm still getting upset after reading this kinda experience. I hope Co isn't going to ask joint sponsor for my husband's case.

Hi HZ,

I think they will not ask. My wife was nervous and could not explain that she has the New Affidavit of Support. If your husband could produce the New Affidavit of Support or If your Old affidavit of support has sufficient income listed, you are going to get the visa. You don't have to worry at all. It was my wife's mistake that she was completely lost in the interview. I re sent the affidavit of support with a note but did not produce a co- sponsor. I hope they  will accept it.

I guess that was the reason he did not look at the new affidavit since your wife could not explain. I submitted only 1 AOS to nvc which was accepted. and the same copy I gave to husband to take at the interview. However, I wish good luck to your wife's visa. hope she get her visa issued asap. amen

I can understated. We simple people do get nervous there. but everything will be fine. it just take a lil while. I'm keep telling my husband not to get nervous. This way an applicant cannot satisfy Co's requirements.

The embassy also called me at 3 am when my wife was there for interview. So also be prepared for a call. They talked to me for 15 minutes. It was a very aggressive interview. I don't want to remember that discussion.

That must be a terrible interview.  what did they ask you? did they try to match your answers. Would you mind explaining that experience so we can prepare. I will be highly thankful.

Sure, they asked about marriage dates, when did we first met, was the marriage arranged, what places did you travelled. All the general stuff which the real spouses must know about one another. The questions were easy to answer, the tone was tough. They have to keep it tough for some reason.
