Besides we all know perfectly well that concerns about voting illegally has nothing to do with the practice, and everything to do with helping spread the fiction that the Democratics are trying to steal elections away from good hard working Americans, and give illegal everything they owe. Identity politics at its worst. 

I think both sides tend to spread fictional narratives, but there is a difference.  If a non-citizen votes, it diminishes the voter franchise of citizens through dilution.  The fact that the Dems and the Left are adamant that this is not an issue and fight any attempt to curtail it by labeling it racist, etc., is really a joke, and leads to the assumption that they are benefitting from it.
