I mailed out the paperwork yesterday after quadruple checking... A bit nervous but I know I'm not the only one. This site has been SO helpful throughout the whole process. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the wait more bearable?

Find stuff on Netflix to binge-watch.  Usually helps me pass the time.

 

These days I'm binge-watching five seasons worth of Six Feet Under.  Never even knew the show existed until I came across it a week or so ago---great show, by the way!

We filed in April and something that has worked for me making it more bearable is making a list of everything we need to do for the next stages of visa and everything (and there is a lot more than you think) needed to get rid of my life in the uk up to day I leave for good. Then planned things in month by month based on best guess timescales so I have some things  to do every month which I colour in green or red on my excel spreadsheet when done or not done. If not done I move them to the next month.

helps me feel like I’m doing something positive and hopefully will prevent delays and I can add to it if I find I need to do more as I go along.

Like @Roel said honestly, just don't think about it. Let them do their thing processing it and you continue on your average every day life.

Waiting is the most difficult things. Since you just submitted your petition, my advice is stop thinking about it. Spend more time with your family and friends. You will be missing them a lot when you move here after k-1 approved. Eat whatever local food you want now because it might be difficult to find it here (it is difficult for me). Go travel or road trip. I do that at the beginning of my waiting time before. Just travel around my country, places that I never visit before. It will be hard to stop thinking about it, but you can do that by making things more exciting. Instead of counting days waiting for NOA2, counting days for something else. For example "oh wow, in 30 days I travel *********" "oh wow, in 20 days I will have a beach trip with my friends" "in 28 days, I will have an annual dinner at work". Continuing doing that. By doing that, you will be able to stop thinking about the visa for a while. Good luck with your journey! 😄
