Background Checks and EAD card

Hi everyone. So I FINALLY got a request to our inquiry about my husband's EAD delay. They sent us the standard "this immigration benefit needs a background investigation that ALL applicants must undergo. If you don't hear from us in 6 months, then please contact us."

This is the same EXACT letter we received in 2005 after our first I-130 application. In sum, this means we're in for a long wait. Interestingly enough, I guess now they will be making people wait for EADs as well at times.

EAD should not rely on background check as its an interim benefit, what you're going through is clearly ridiculous. At this point I would consider talking to your Congressman/woman for help as going direct to USCIS clearly isn't helping.

Yes I brought in the senator and am now going to go to another one as well. I will fax this letter to them. This is so STUPID. Unless this is a new "not publicly disclosed" policy.

In a way, am glad we got the letter. It is evidence/written proof.
