Thank you CatP. I know delays are expected but I spent a lot of time doing the application so I thought there was no way I'd make such obvious mistake. And looks like our application will be put to the back of the line when we submit again based on your timeline, sigh. I thought we'd get some priority since we already have a case with USCIS after rejection. But it doesn't seem to be the case. Do you know if they also looked through our entire application or maybe just saw the fee and rejected the application right away? I'm just worrying if the latter is the case, it'd be bad since what if they reject again when I re-submit for some other reasons....

I haven't which is really sad. I called and asked can I just send in a check, they said no have to wait for the package to arrive. Sigh.

How long now has it been rejected. Mine was rejected on Friday June 20, 2018 and up to now I still haven’t  received it. The wait is excruciating 😢. For the past week I’ve been checking the mailbox several time a day just to see if it’s there. It’s driving me crazy

If you're already so upset about this slight delay, you're going to have a very hard time during the rest of this process...

You made a mistake, and were given a chance to fix it. This will also give you the chance to go through the package again and make sure everything else is correct, so you'll avoid getting an RFE.

Well I know for fact that this whole process might take a long time. I wasn't hoping on getting it within months. Admitting someone inside the country isn't an easy job/process for USCIS, so I understand the timeline very well. I was upset because the incorrect fee mistake was totally avoidable and apparently I add additional delays because of that mistake.

Mine took exactly 14 days to be returned.

Thanks thepanda for sharing. My long wait starts, my case just got rejected on June 27, so I guess I still have more than a week to go based on your timeline. If you don't mind, Can you share your experience regarding how did you re-submit the package? Like, do you keep the whole original documents and just correct the items that need to be corrected? Thanks again.

Of course. All the documents were stapled together in 3 or 4 different piles. They were stapled in a weird order too but since they did it, I left it as is. Each paper has a time stamp. The first 2 pages of mine were crossed out an initialled. They also put my pictures in a plastic back and labeled them referring to each form and lastly they also took the fedex label of my package and put it with the package. They also include a green paper saying that you are allowed to re-submit the package and to put the green paper on top of your documents. So, I first put my check, the green paper, the 3 NOA's I received for the one and then the AOS package below.

I did exchange the i-864 Form because the form was close to expiring and I did not want a RFE for it.

I have read about a lot of people who submitted a complete whole new package but I already spent so much time making sure my original one was correct that I did not want to do that. Besides they stapled everything together and looked through it.

Thanks so much, thepanda. I was afraid that they rejected as soon as they saw the wrong fee and not looking further; if it is the case, then what if when I resubmit and they found out another mistake and send back the application, that'd be bad since it would cause another huge delay. but it looks like they did go through your whole application, from what you shared.

Yes this could happen. I actually saw one users timeline who had to submit his AOS 2 or 3 times in total. That must be so frustrating. :(

Oh no :( Do you have the link to his discussion? Just wondering how it happened.

Unfortunately, I do not remember and it wasn't a discussion about that. This person just contributed to some other topic and so it in their timeline. Check out the AOS topic for January February and March 2018. It must be in of those topics.

Hi QueensNY, did you get your application back yet? I got it today, so it took 1 week. If you have re-submitted, could you pls share your experience? I saw letters saying its incorrect fee, but Im unsure if I should just re-submit with the new checks or go through the whole application again. They organized it though, so I don't really want to change the order of the forms.

Hi I’m happy you got your package back. Mine has been over 2 weeks and I still haven’t received anything. It’s just frustrating. I’m always checking the mailbox only to find nothing. And when I called they said it can take up to a month from the rejected date which was June 20... so I just have to wait.
