Hello, I am immigrating from Ghana. I need a joint sponsor! If anyone is willing to fill out a I-864 affidavit of support it would help us greatly. Can anyone help?

Sorry, but no one is going to help you with this.


No one would give their personal financial information to a stranger.  That would be incredibly stupid.

 

No one is going to be willing to be financially responsible for a stranger.  That would also be incredibly stupid.

 

You need to ask family and friends.  Alternatively, you will need another job to meet the financial requirements.

Signing an I-864 is a significant financial commitment. It could result in payments for the rest of one's life if the beneficiary decided to sue for enforcement. No reasonable stranger would be wise to do it, sorry.

I'm all for charity and make donations myself, but this is a legal contract requiring somebody to fulfill its obligations.

Like others, unfortunately for you, no one here I don't think would be willing to put themselves on the hook financially for a stranger, or even send that type of personal information about themselves (banking records, pay stubs, social security number, ect) to you. These are things you and your spouse have to figure out on your own. Have the petitioner ask family, friends, co-workers....

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Seriously though. This questions actually pops now and then and I'm wondering if people really think they will find someone naive enough to sign i864 for a stranger?

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

What type of visa?  If it really is a CR-1, where is your US spouse?

The whole thing with immigration is it's costly, time consuming, and you need to go into it all prepared. You need to have a discussion with your petitioner (US spouse) about finances and get some things settled. They need to seek family and close friends for help, not seek out random people online.
