Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me, if when I go to my medical I need 6 or 12 months on the police report as I know the interview is 12 months?

Cheers

T

hey, you need a certificate, not a report.

Apologies, yes I already have the ACRO police certificate, the embassy's websites states its valid for 12 months however the medical states 6 months... Just wanted to be 100% sure as it may be over 6 months when I get my medical.

Ah okay. Sorry, some people have actually just gotten reports of some sort before without realizing.

Length of time for which a certificate is valid
There is no set period of time for which the Police Certificate is considered to be valid.
Embassies, High Commissions, consulates or other authorities will usually require you to produce a Police Certificate which has been issued less than six months before your visa interview or travel date.

Getting a police certificate is something most people do later on in the process. Since interviews are usually around 1-2 weeks after the medical, it makes sense to get the certificate a month or so before you think you'll get the medical. Either way, if 6 months passes by and you still don't have your medical, I would get another certificate to be sure.

Just got off the phone with Knightsbridge Medical and the said that as long as it's within 12 months it will be fine and same applies for the Embassy, so I can use my March 2018 Police certificate for both.
