Yes, that's true, I also copy and scan a lot at work and I know how annoying it is to scan legal size paper for example.

So I don't want them to be annoyed with our submission and will do single sided copies. Thank you!

We did not bother with that. It says to send in unaltered documents plus I trust them not to do anything stupid with it.

We didn't, don't really see the point because they already have enough personal information like tax returns, SSNs etc.

Bank account numbers wouldn't make a big difference in case of identity being stolen

Some people have but IMHO, it's the US Department of Homeland Security.  They could find out everything about you if they wanted.  So even my husband, who is SUPER private, (doesn't have any social media for example) didn't bother.
