Date on I-751

I know that the I-751 has to be sent and received by USCIS no more than 90 days before the expiration date of the green card.

 

My question is, does it matter what date you put next to the signature on the I-751?  Should that date be as close to the 90 day window as possible or can it be a few weeks earlier?

It should be within that window, not just close to it and definitely not before the window opens.

Put the date a day or two before you mail it and make sure you mail it within the 90 day window. 

 

Just out of curiosity - why are you concerned about what date to put?

you will the  put the  date of the day that you fill out the I-751 Form and send it in ,which should not be before 90 days of expiration date of  green card  or after 90 days of expiration date of green card

USCIS is moving very slow especially CSC service center so putting a date 2 or 3 days or a week  earlier then the date you actually sent it in isn't really going to make any difference

We're curious about this too. We are 2 days before our 90-day window open, can we sign it now or should we wait until after the window opens?

Personally, I plan to eliminate all doubt and technicalities by dating and mailing my wife's ROC 1 day after the 90 day window opens.....and I plan to "next day" express it to the appropriate office.......just my personal choice...
