So my wife finally got her "We are scheduling your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, for an interview." Notice in April on the website followed by a mail letter saying her interview had been scheduled and we would receive notice of the date?. When it go to two months I had her call just because I was worried we never received it in the mail. Well the call did not go well. The woman did not seem to be much help at all. She said she did not have access to when the interview was. She said she could only send out a letter for a new interview.  My wife asked if she could have a confirmation number and the lady said she did not have access to that part of the system either. But she said we would get new notice of appointment in 30 days. Well we received the letter she said she would send. It was odd to us though because it did not have the normal 'notice of action' and  green paper. It was just a very plain white piece of paper with typing on it that said the following information was found and that her interview would be rescheduled and we would receive notice in 60 days (not 30 as we were told) and said if we reschedule they do not have to consider it and can toss her application (but we didn't reschedule we just never got notice and were worried due to the sudden political nature regarding immigrants that we would miss her chance to be a citizen.

Sooo. anyway long story but . Did we just jump the gun and not wait long enough for notice of schedule appointment?

By some of your experiences how long after you received the actual appointment date ahead of the date itself?

Is there a current longer than average wait time right now once they say you have an appointment till when it actually is?

UGH.. and how do you even know if you missed a meeting if they cant tell you when the meeting was or is and if you are worried maybe you did not get the letter in the mail?

I don't have all the answers for your questions, I'm just going to answer one of them at least....you should receive the notice with the date, place and time of the interview at least one month before the day of the interview!

1) my interview was about a month out from my receiving the interview letter.

2) Where is your service center you might get more current info, my whole process took around 8 months from application to naturalization in Portland Oregon.

yeah i think we actually jumped the gun in calling USCIS . and I wish the lady would of just said to wait as opposed to treating it as if we wanted to reschedule. But such is life. Been a LOOOOONG process I guess a little longer wont hurt

WOW 2016 that is a VERY long wait for an interview. I'm sorry it's taking so long, I would have been very impatient by that time also. It took a month after the interview for them to issue a decision and I was on edge the whole time, what you must be going through is terrible. 19 months for an interview seem like you should have made a info pass appointment after 12 months.

My wife got her letter for the ""We are scheduling your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, for an interview" letter in April of 2017. She just got her Scheduled interview date letter May 29, 2018, and her interview date is July 2, 2018. We tried calling as well in June, August, and September and received the same responses you did. We finally placed an inquiry on her USCIS account stating we received that letter and wondered what was going on. We did get a reply stating they would contact us when the interview date was set. After that my wife got an email like once every two weeks with a status on her case, but that status always said n"o change to status". Hopefully this gives you an idea of how long it can take.

My wife submitted her N-400 in August of 2016, and her biometrics were done September of 2016.
