Something that is impossible to nail down if he won't release his tax returns.

But what we do know.

- his family stands to save >800k ( two year salary) in his tax plan.

- secret service has paid >2.4 million to trump tower

-trumps mar-a-lago memberships have doubled in price.

He also has alot of his holdings in a trust controlled by his son that has had a major uptick in transactions by various shell corporations.

So you admit it’s simply conjecture on your part?

How does his family “stand to save > $800K in his tax plan”?

Ide rather pay down national debt , invest in infrasture, and supply free community college to every one in the US.

So Trump is going to get a tax break, at the same rate you and I could if we owned pass-thru businesses.

And you are getting a tax break commensurate with your income now.  So I think it is fair.

Do you like paying taxes?

You can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe your discussion about Trump making money in office wasn't about whether the money he was making is "fair". You said he was losing money every day he is in office. Most likely the personal benefits he receives from the tax reform he passed will MORE than make up for the money he is "losing" by donating his salary to charity.

That is ignoring the additional money he makes by allowing his companies/properties to benefit from his Presidency (like Mar-A-Lago). He may not run them anymore, but he still financially benefits from their success.

Still incorrect.  3 out of 5 slaves were allowed to vote, to keep slave owners from gaining a large political advantage in elections.  If 5/5 slaves had been allowed to vote, then democrats would have had a huge advantage, because obviously the slaves they owned would have been forced to vote THEIR way.  So to compromise, only 3 out of every 5 were counted.

You never explained where you got this information from by the way.

I see no evidence that slaves were ever allowed to vote. The 3/5 compromise was about how they were COUNTED, not how they voted.

Ok, counted as population, not actually voting.

Outdated, yes.  Never argued that point.  That’s why it went away roughly 150 years ago.  Not sure why it was even brought up here.  It’s old news, and will never be a factor again.

The electoral college I think is where this started?  Now that is enduring.  But still a choice we make today.

I replied before, but you probably missed it.  3 out of 5 slaves were counted, so as not to give the dems too much of an advantage.

@bcking

Nailed it

And i like to take a holistic approach to my taxes.. if you cut my taxes but increase my general living expenses. I am not receiving a tax cut.

Plain and simple.

There seems to be an obvious win win scenario:

Those who want to pay more taxes should be allowed to do so, those who do not want to are not forced to.

Everybody happy.

You didn’t answer my question.  Do you like paying taxes?  Do you think we should pay more taxes than we do now?

How are your general living expenses going up, other than which has been the norm for the past 100 years?
