Originals or copies

Do we send original certified copies of birth certificate, marriage certificate,  and police clearance or copies to NVC? The travelstate.gov site says photocopies to NVC and originals are brought to the interview. We don't want to risk an RFE. Your help is appreciated.

You answered your question darling. Photocopies through mail and take originals to the interview. If they want originals, they will request them. If your package is thorough, there should be no RFEs.

You will risk an RFE if you do not submit everything that is required for your case. NVC takes copies of whatever document is needed. When the whole file is sent to the consulate for your interview, they will ask to see your originals when you turn up at the interview to certify the copies that are already in the file.

Photocopies to NVC, keep the originals for your interview. They need to compare them to make sure they are the same.
