My petition was rejected due to the personal check so unfortunately what you said is incorrect.

For anyone else filing with London, they accept cashiers checks only.

For what it's worth, London's USCIS webpage specifically tells you to not send personal checks:

Quote

you must pay the fees to the U.S. Embassy cashier using a cashier's check, U.S. dollar money order, or an international bank draft made payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Please do not mail cash, personal checks, or traveler’s checks.

So a US citizen can not pay a fee to a US government agency with a check from a US bank?  That is just unbelievable.

Not when it has to be processed through a foreign bank....too many issues with fees, currency conversions, etc.

Hi,

I applied for I-130 for my husband from London, Notice of Receipt of Petition is 11th December 2018. Since the government's shut down, the embassy is not updating its processing time - last update 21st December 2018.

I was wondering if the applications are still processed and if any one has heard from the embassy regarding their petition since 21st December,

A similar thing happened to me when I was waiting, they didn't update the website for over 2 weeks in September. I sent them an email to say the site hadn't been updated but never received a response. Unfortunately all you can do is keep waiting. Ours took about 10 weeks from receipt until the approval letter came.

USCIS Processing is funded from the fees paid and is not part of the shutdown.   DOS had a combination of funded and is open for the foreseeable future.

When we did DCF in Mexico it took 4 weeks for it to be walked over the DOS and then 2 weeks for a case number.

With the holidays factored in I think you can start calling them to see.
