hi

unless you moved to another state, you don't have to prove anything. the 3 months proof is if you moved to another state prior to filing the n400

I guess USCIS is no different than any other instance where you have to submit a proof of your address. Utility bills, lease agreement, etc...

can not give utility bill ...but bank account with address is good enough?

I responded to this question in your other thread here:

To prove residency?  On its own, no it's not enough as a bank account can be accessed from almost anywhere around the world---they'll expect something a *bit* more than just a bank account if you wish to prove physical residency in a particular district, like the stuff I mentioned above.

When it comes to residency---An IO looks at the totality of evidence provided. One piece of evidence doesn't really prove something.  Several pieces outlining the same thing you're trying to prove (ie. residency) holds much more water.  And, as I mentioned, bank accounts can be accessed from anywhere---doesn't prove someone is living in the same district as where their bank is.   I have active bank accounts in the UK and Canada and the Caribbean...but I live in the US.

Utility bills or a lease are good ways in proving physical residency for at least 3 months, along with tax return info.

Also depends on whether you're applying under the 5-year residency rule, or the 3-year marriage rule as to how effective your proof of residency needs to be, in the long run.

This is what I found on USCIS website

A. Three-Month Residency Requirement (in State or Service District)

The applicant must have resided in that location for at least three months prior to filing.

I am helping a family member citizenship.

Her 5 years anniversary date is Dec. 7 2018.

So to my understanding she can file 90 days before Dec. 7 2018. (which I assume should be around sept. 7 2018)

But since she has recently moved she needs to prove that she was resident for at least 90 days from where she intends to file her application (her new resident)

So my understanding is ..if she wants to file 90 days early for example sept 7 2018 ..she  needs to prove that she was a resident of that new district from

June 7 2018 correct?

Also, I have asked before but I am still confused apart from utility bill, state ID or rental agreement what else can be sufficient enough to prove

3 months residency requirement ? and when does she needs to prove this 3 months residency?

If somehow an applicant can not prove she can not prove she was resident of a particular district for at least 90 days before filing...

because she does not know what kind of proof is required or she can not have sufficient documents required ..

what are the consequences? will she deported or she needs to file a new application?

And who and when ask an applicant to prove her 90 days residency ? applicant has to submit document with the application or at the time of interview or??

hi

the 3 month residency is only for those who move to another state, if you moved to another state, you must be residing in your new state at least 3 months prior to filing the N400

you are a green card holder, citizenship is optional. they only thing that immigration could do is deny the N400 for filing too soon. you can refile and pay again the fee, but why bother if you can wait a few months in your new state and apply after living there for 3 months

there is no waiting if you move within your state, the 3 month residency is only for those who move to a new state

Hi,

I do not believe changing districts is an issue. However, like @aleful said, moving to another state in the US will definitely need you to wait until you have lived in that state for more than 3 months prior to filing citizenship paperwork.

hi

you don't need to open a new thread for the same thing. there is no problem when the move is in the same state

the 3 month residency requirement is if the applicant moves to an another state. the person must wait 3 months living in the new state, reside there for 3 months prior to filing the N400

so your family member is fine
