Nervous!

Just wondering how you all coped with nerves before your medical?!

 

Im finding it daunting, I’ve read alot of reviews on here about Knightsbridge but I guess my nerves just want to stick around... I think its the not knowing what the outcome is! This is the most i’ve ever been overthinking a situation..

Unless you have TB or you are an illegal drug user, there is no need to worry. Most everyone finds the medical exam to be one of the easiest parts of the immigration process, imo.

Thank you! I have never done drugs & ive never had TB

 

My worries are my past mental health, I guess i just have to ride this out & hope for the best with my honesty

Thank you! I have requested this my doctor is finally doing it this week after i have pestered them for 5 weeks! (Really incompetent surgery, wouldnt even type it during an appointment which would’ve be easier/quicker) I know im not a harm to myself of others but I have harmed myself in the past as an impulsive reaction to a traumatic event, I have a hospital letter from mental health team about it but i dont know if its enough with my doctors letter (when i get it)

I understand, im prepared with honesty, just worried I might be denied the visa because of my past harm? Even if I get sent for an extra evaluation, has anyone known for someone to be denied by extra evaluation from a Psychiatrist?! I couldn’t find any threads on here so im curious

OP, if everything is satisfactory regarding the documentation you provide them for mental health there would be no reason for a denial. Even if for some reason Knightsbridge wanted their own individual assessment, and sent you elsewhere to get one, it would only cause a delay, and not a denial. Hopefully this puts you slightly at ease. I know it's not easy, the jitters hit everyone going to a medical. Just be honest and you'll be okay.

Think it's best to keep in mind that they are private medical professionals, who understand that life can be hard, and not everyone has been able to develop healthy coping mechanisms to traumatic experiences. You will be fine. When is your medical booked for?

Thank you! I finally got my letter from my GP today

That's great! They will be understanding of your past. Your body will speak for itself. Remember they are looking for people who may be an immediate risk to themselves or others. If you have been stable for some time, you will be okay. Make sure you post about your experience!

Edit: worst case scenario is definitely they will just ask you for more information if they feel what you have provided is not sufficient.

It sounds like you have everything covered. As others have said, there may be a delay but not a denial. Have you ever been diagnosed or sectioned due to your mental health?

Nope never sectioned, ive had counselling when i was a teenager
