At the bottom of this official USCIS.gov page, it clearly states leaving the US without I-131 (Advanced Parole) while your I-485 is pending will cause your application to be considered oabandoned. There is also a search bar on this site that would have brought up many threads with the same question and the same answer would have come up.

I think it seems clear because you've been around it

I fail to see how this is a high level plan when a simple basic research of a K1 will produce results showing you are not allowed to leave the US while AOS is pending.

Just a point of clarification, it is not that anyone is not allowed to leave the US, but rather not having documentation for re-entry to the US.

Well there was a time I didn't know anything about this process either and I wondered the same thing about leaving the US during adjustment, processing times etc. I Googled the ####### out of the topic and read the guides on this website and all the instruction packets from USCIS.gov. The information is literally at your fingertips and isn't magically made available to only those who have been "going through it" for a certain amount of time.

I get it, what I'm saying is its warming to hear current stories and experiences rather than google skills

Sure but you're dealing with federal law enforcement (CBP & USCIS) who enforce laws. Laws are objective rules and are not up for individual interpretation. Anecdotes for this matter will lead to the same conclusion: people adhered to the laws and were fine and those that didn't were not.

Google skills would have gotten you a better answer than coming here to hear current stories and experiences.  Instead of going to reliable sources like the US Government and law firms, you rather rely on stories and experiences on the law.

You're getting hazed for the "high level plan" and being kinda snotty.  Accept that you did a poor job with your initial research, and don't come off as, well, it wasn't that easy to find, etc.  That's coming off as childish and arrogant.

VJ is for learning.  The crowd is rough when you don't your homework.

You can NOT come on a K1 visa, apply for your EAD, then go back and forth to your home country. If it was that easy, we would all do it. Trust me, my husband hates not working and would do this in a heartbeat. You need to stay in the US and NOT work after entering on the K1 visa. EAD cards are taking about 6 months at this point. Once you leave, you will not be allowed back in. End of story.

thanks Sarah but I already received that answer

Isn't the purpose of a knowledgeable forum to help and advise? you seem to be saying you could have googled this. surely knowing what to google, no matter how basic, is the entry point for discussion

Yes, that is the purpose but your attitude is why people are giving you grief.  You came for help with an attitude and your high level plan.  Then, you got defensive and snotty.  People will not help you if you are snotty and superior and think you know it better with your high level plan.   Be humble when asking for help.

You could have answered "thanks Sarah."  Simple and to the point.   Instead you choose to add "but I already received that answer."  There was no need for the but.  It makes you seem snotty.  It came off as "thanks but no thanks because I already received that answer."

Attitude counts.

Ok my high level plan in my terms means it is barely thought out. I thought that this forum would be a place for people in the same boat, not people who have been there and done it.
