filing status (split topic)

Hi,

Here is my case, I am USC and my husband lives in Mexico. We are waiting for NO2. We married in 2015, and had our child last year(USC). This year was my first tax return. Base on W4, I had to file as a single mom, but I am wondering if this is OK for our future interview, or I have to do an addendum.

Please advise.

Base on 1040, I had to file as Head of household since I paid for the expenses of my child last year, but I am wondering if this is OK for our future interview, or I have to change it?.

If you're married you NEVER file as single.

Even if your husband would live on the moon, you do not file as single. If anything, you file as Married - Separately.

Sorry, I tried to edit my post...I filed as a Head of Household (I have our child and pay all expenses).

That's an appropriate filing status for your conditions.
