In addition to what O&O has stated, you can add other supporting docs if you have like flight itenery of any family member that came to Nigeria with you during the wedding,a brief write up on how you both met, screenshots of calls/chat logs, add him as a beneficiary on your insurances(life, retirement)if you have one, copy of the confirmation page  of his registration with the Intergovernmental marriage committee(IMC)which enables anyone that has access to your marriage certificate number anywhere in the world access online. as well as any other supporting document you have.

For the IMC,it depends on where the marriage was done because if it was done in Ikoyi, you shouldn't bother about the registration with IMC.

I had my wedding in aba state and i didn't register anything...and to contribute my wife petition for me and we went through it and out successful and now i got my visa approved and in hand

That's you but for some others that went through it before you, they got it.

You are not the first to get approved and have visa in hand and you won't be the last either.

Immigration is like fingerprints, all cases are different.

Chucks, you shouldn't have edited your previous message("I got my visa... and you didnt")you should have left it for everyone to see if what you wrote was right/proper.

You got your visa before me was because you got married and filed before me,you don't have to mock me/anyone with it.

You haven't even left Nigeria and your already mocking people.

May God forgive you.

Most lawyers care about making money above everything else. Whether your paperwork is all in order or not is not their biggest concern. Worst come to worse, you will get a checklist and your lawyer will make few more hours on your dime. Unless paperwork is something that bugs the bejesus out of you and you have a hard time understanding basic terms (for e.g., if you are not sure who the applicant is), you are better off doing your own paperwork. For me, I want to be with my wife ASAP and I don't have time nor money for attorneys. YMMY.

Lawyers don't work for free and neither do you.  Lawyers don't run charities.  Pretty sure when you go to work, you care about making money too.

Of course I do and I am not asking them to run charities either. I am just saying most of them are just more interested in making extra money one way or another than providing simple and honest advice and requested services for money. It's the basic conflict of interest.

I did talk to an attorney before I filed my case and he showed me a large stack of paperwork and told me it would be impossible to do this without professional help, so I took his advice and did all of it on my own.
