.... Hello all... From the Philippines ( Gonzaga, Cagayan Valley) & now a US Citizen hoping to get my daughter & 3 grandkids over for a visit to the US when school is out. ( We visit the PI yearly. ) My daughter is not financially well of but my husband & I are financially secure. Can we get the 4 of them over with a tourist visa as we can afford all needed expenses? Besides getting PI passports what obstacles might we encounter? Is this doable or will the application be denied because of my daughters lack of finances? How might we accomplish getting them here to visit us & the USA while school is over?SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!! Thanks in advance!....

They will or won't qualify for a tourist visa based on their own merits. You cannot sponsor a tourist.

It's perfectly fine to provide the ticket and offer a place to stay. It's optimal if they can do so on their own, but it is what it is.

If the children are legitimated, then a letter from the father may be necessary for them to travel abroad.

They (your daughter really) should have ready any documentation of their ties to return home (i.e. property, an employment letter, registration for school next year, etc.). The CO may not (probably not) look at it, but better to have it than not have it.

Only way to know is to apply and find out if they qualify.

Good luck!

It will be very hard for them to get tourist visa they have to prove that they have enough money and ties to the Philippines and that they will not want to stay in us.

Your daughter and grandchildren will apply for visitor visas based on their circumstances.  You and your husband are not involved.  All visitor visa applicants are presumed to want to illegally immigrate if granted their visas.  To overcome the presumption and qualify for visas, they would need to show strong ties to the PI that would indicate they would return home if granted the visas.

It's okay for you to pay all needed expenses, but that is not a factor in granting them visas.

Lack of finances is part of the lack of ties to home that would allow your daughter and grandkids to overcome the presumption of illegal immigration.

The lack of strong ties to home is the most common obstacle to getting visitor visas.
