Salaam Everyone,

After reading over some of the posts of others who have been interviewed at Casa and didn't have their support papers/photos/proof of bona fide relationship even looked at and still others stating that it's a good idea to compile a solid initial petition packet, I became concerned that our Petition for Fiance, though consisting of all the basic information/proof that was requested for filing, might fall short during the interview phase, so I sent in a large binder with official/notarized letters from Parents, my July 2006 Shahada (acceptance of islam) certificate from my local mosque, a letter from my Imam, photos, emails/letters of correspondance between me and Driss, phone records, postage receipts to/from Morocco, air ticket stubs/boarding passes from my 3rd trip to Morocco back in March '07, and several other things. I also included a little handwritten note requesting that they add it to the petition. This was sent certified to CSC and delivered on Wednesday, May 2nd.

My question is, will I receive a confirmation that they included it in our Petition? I called USCIS yesterday and they told me there is no way for them to verify receipt. The lady that spoke to me seemed unsure, but said that I might receive some kind of notice. Also, haven't had any touches since March. Can anyone who has been through a similar situation shed light upon this? I am a little worried that it may not find its way to our file before the NVC phase. Shukron, JazakAllah Khair.

Thanks,

Iysha

I think what you did was risky in that there is no guarantee it will reach/connect-with your case file. It may (I'm sure stranger things have happened) - but would not have been advised had you asked here beforehand. Simply because it may never reach your case. And it is doubtful (more like 100%) you'll receive any kind of notice it was included in your case.

Best practice would have been to let it ride - wait for an RFE if one even came. (Of course if you felt you didn't have enough evidence or forgot something entirely, you could certainly prepare for it..but still wait.)

I hope you made copies of what you sent..

I wish you the best - it's not the end of the world - might only be out the time and money it took to put it together and send it in...best case, you get approved with no issues at all.. (L)

Karin,

Thanks for the advice/info. I am in the habit of making multpile copies of everything that I gather and send in, so luckily yes I do have a copy of everything. I did include a copy of my NOA1 with the Receipt Number on it in the hopes that it would facilitate locating our file. Thanks again for your response.
