Hello everyone,

I'm in the pre-planning stage of putting together the I-129 application/package and I was wondering if you guys can tell me if this is enough evidence to proof my relationship with my fiance.

I'm planning to submit the following:

1) we've been chatting for over a year now everyday since feb 2017 till recent, I downloaded all the messages from facebook and printing them out is about 1330 pages.  So i'm planning to do the following, a screen shot of one bit of conversation from every month, paste it into word and write a little about what the conversation was about.  It will have the facebook screen/logo so it's not a copy and paste

2) we've met each other twice now, she came to visit me and i went to visit her, and she will be here to visit next week so we have photos from those trips and the upcoming one, so I'm planning to submit 10-12 photos, write a little about the photo. A few with friends, a few with family, a couple more intimate ones(like kissing, would this be too much for the reviewer)?

3) our travel tickets

4) xerox of our passports showing the stamps when we went to visit each other

5) a couple of screen shots of call logs from messengers and the duration of the calls

our plan is to put this application/package together while she is here then i will mail it out the week after she heads home.

thanks again in advance and this site has been a wonderful resource for this journey!

Looks good.  Leave out the 1300+ pages of printed chats.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

Hello,

Proof of relationship is not a requirement. If you read the I-129F instructions it states:

A. Intention to Marry Within 90 Days of Entry. Submit evidence that you and your fiancé(e) intend to marry
within 90 days of your fiancé(e)’s entry as a K-1 nonimmigrant. Evidence of your intention to marry may include
statements of intent to marry signed by both you and your fiancé(e) or any other evidence that establishes, by a
preponderance of the evidence, your mutual intention; and

B. In-Person Meeting. Submit evidence that you and your fiancé(e) met in person during the 2-year period
immediately before you filed this petition. Evidence of this meeting may include, but is not limited to, a
written statement from you and/or your fiancé(e) stating the circumstances of your meeting, a copy of airline
tickets, passport pages, or other evidence.

The in person meeting is proof in itself of a relationship. I submitted baseball game tickets, theatre tickets, facebook tags of us being in the same location, photos (all dated with location), flight itineraries, passport stamps, boarding passes.

Hope that helps.

Bottom line,

If you think it will help and want peace of mind then the more the merrier.

Some get approved with less some get denied with more...it really just depends on the actual reviewer.

For evidence, we were approved with:

1) Lots of photos (that clearly depict where you are) with friends and family. I'd say around 5-10 for each trip that you saw each other.

2) Flight and hotel invoices. (That clearly state trip information with both of your names)

3) Chat logs (2 to 3 months worth)

4) Video chat logs (2 to 3 months worth)

I was worried and stressed at first that I didn't provide enough based on what I had been reading in the forums.

In my opinion, what I listed above is more than enough. Restaurant and other various receipts, passport photos of stamps, and boarding passes are unnecessary.

Why do I say that? Because  we were approved with no RFE

Again, there are a lot of factors at play here so you should include whatever is necessary to give you peace of mind based on the community's suggestions.

I just hate for people to scramble and stress out over finding specific pieces of information when they don't need to.

I'm not saying what I did was the right or wrong way, simply saying what I provided worked.

Whoa thanks for all the answers to the original post everyone.  It seems like everybody has success submitting different things.  We do have flight tickets, passport stamps, photos together.  The only thing I'm on the fence about is the chat logs because our daily conversation are quite dull, nothing to write home about.  They're not all hearts and kissy faces.

If you have sufficient evidence of meeting within the last 2 years, chat logs are not required. You want to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that you have met in person at least once in the last 2 years. Photo's with dates and locations, and anything else to support that. I probably went overboard on my evidence. Everything was annotated, but they literally throw away and destroy things that haven't been asked for / relevant.

Chat logs etc are not evidence of meeting, I think that's the key thing to remember here.

thanks for replying again and definitely appreciate the detailed replies, I think i'm going to take up your advice and forego the chat logs.  we've known each other for a total of 3 years now but since we started dating, we've been in each other's presence a total of 2 times already the past year, we will see each other again tomorrow for the 3rd time for the next 2 weeks.  We took plenty of photos each time and we will take some more this time.

ps: I didn't know that there's actual instructions for the I-129 until I went back and read your other post that I googled.  Thanks again!!!

No problem! Glad I could help.

Yeah I really wish they would update some of the posts on this site, there's also an I-129F example document to help you fill it out. Tag yourselves in in social media if possible, put dates, locations, and names of everyone in the pictures when you submit :) keep any ticket stubs etc. good luck with everything!
