They asked for a migratory report and his criminal record in El Salvador. His criminal record is clean, and he only left El Salvador one time never returning when he left to the United States. Once again, I am asking what the next steps could be if we are being refused because it seems like we will be at this point. We have been financially decimated by the process so I am asking for advice since I dont think we can afford an attorney anymore.

The next steps if your husband's case is refused really hinge on the totality of your situation.  You say he's in the US?  That he left El Salvador only once to go to the US?  Can you please explain your situation in as much detail as possible so we can all help you out?

Good luck

To clarify, he is in El Salvador, and has been for 4 months since his original interview was cancelled by the embassy due to the medical doctor not giving them the paperwork, and they rescheduled for 6 weeks later . He left El Salvador originally because he was kidnapped for ransom and left for dead after they received the ransom. He came in illegally to save his own life but the embassy does not care about that obviously.

We are still waiting after almost 60 days in AP with the US Embassy in El Salvador. No one can even guess why we are in AP so long. At this point, I am guessing we have the great potential for getting the visa refused as the embassy refuses to given a response to my attorney nor my Senator's office, nor to my husband and myself. What are our options if the visa is refused?

Did you get any paperwork at your interview indicating anything like 221(g)?

Yes, my husband received the 221g the day of his interview. At that time, the CEAC website said AP. After we turned in the requested information from the 221g, basically immediately, the CEAC website changed to refused and has never changed. The one answer I received from the embassy over 30 days ago is that it is still in AP. However, CEAC says it was reviewed July 23rd and it still says refused. So, I am guessing, since the embassy does not want to give us any information and has been impossible to deal with, they are going to refuse my husband's visa. I am asking advice as to how to proceed/options in that case.

What additional information did the embassy ask for, and what happened at the interview for you to think they would refuse the visa?

He came in illegally and has received a waiver.  I need to know what we do when we are refused.
