Inevitably, the red tape parade marches on....we received an email from the embassy last night basically stating they have all the documents and don't call us we will call you. Reading other people's experiences on here has made it clear that this embassy takes over the 60 days for administrative processing. No one has answers here or anywhere.

I appreciate your input. As I said, we were assured it would be a faster process but looking at what is going on in my country right now, it is going to be a long haul. My husband received an email today that we may find out next week after they look at the migratory record, but I am sure there will be more and more red tape to go through.

Who told you it would be faster than what it has been?

By my husband's immigration attorney.

Ah well of course they did so you would hire them.  AP can last a long time.  It sucks and it's hard.  Bugging the embassy at this point will not help your case so try to refrain from emailing them.

Yup, did the research, checked it out, my husband's case should have been processed quicker. Its the current administrations agenda that is holding this up.

Cryptic at best.  What research?  Why do you believe as you do about this?

In this process, it is foolish to think in terms of "shoulds" anyway.  There are black holes in the process.  You come out of the black hole when you do.  Bugging the Consulate is likely to slow you down, not speed you up.  They will do what they will do.  If you harass them, they'll likely do it slower.

Canadians having to submit documents after their interview have been waiting months to get their visa (60-90 days...), and that has been happening for as long as I can remember.   As much as I wish the current administration was less... erratic, the waiting games are not new.

After 30 days in administrative processing, a person can inquire about their case, which is what we did. No one is bothering the embassy. In addition, it is not foolish to expect that public servants do their job.

What makes you think that they are not doing their job?  Embassy/Consulate has limited resources, not matter the way you look at it, when they are using resources to respond to inquiries, they are not processing cases.

AN inquiry is not the same as multiple inquiries.  I mentioned "harass" not "an inquire".  They ARE doing their job.  Again, their job is not "caring" and it is not to complete their work in a time frame that satisfies petitioner's or visa applicants.  They are to "satisfy" the requirements of their job.

Reminds me of "How are you doing?"  "Oh, I can't complain."  Of course the truth is you can complain all you want.  In this context it will have more impact on your blood pressure than your visa timeline.

Went to the CEAC website, still says "refused" updated yesterday 6/25. I emailed the embassy again. I feel so lost at this point, I feel like my country does not care about me and my family.

On this point, I applied here in Sweden for my Irish husband. We have a very clean case: married for many years, children, property, joint assets, clean records, etc. On his interview date his medical report had not yet been received by the Embassy, so he received a "refusal" letter and this was reflected online. Of course it's nerve wracking to see that word after such a long process. The report was received two days after his interview and it was still several weeks before we received final approval/return of documents. I know the waiting is tough...hope you have a resolution soon.

You could do us all a favor and fill out your timeline so we have a better idea of the timeframes you are thinking of?

Men from pakistan often have to wait YEARS in AP without a reason why.

No one is blaming or shaming you, simply letting you know that you need to calm down and give it more time than you think.  Embassies are quite slow to react to evidence provided after the fact (even when requested by them and given in a timely manner.)  Simply put you're not the only fish in the sea.  Waiting when we have zero control is really difficult.  I quite remember crying on Skype to my husband about the black hole his petition seemed to be in.  He reminded me that the government is slow and to just relax.  So that is my thoughts to you.  Don't have these expectations, try to remember you've done all you can, and that currently you have no control over this aspect of your life.  Try to be positive.

Since you haven't provided a lot of information on your case, let me make another guess about it.  Your husband left the US for his visa processing with a 601a waiver of his unlawful presence in hand, assuming that meant an immediate visa issuance and return to the US.  What was not clear is that -- if my assumption is correct -- the "only" thing that did was save him from a 3 or 10 year ban from re-entering the US (which is, of course, a HUGE thing).  It did not, however, mean he could skip all of the steps of the vIsa process, which includes among other things, ensuring there are no other ineligibilities.  All of that takes some time.  It doesn't mean that people are not doing their jobs; rather, it is the exact opposite -- they are taking the time to do their job thoroughly and carefully.

I am not stupid, and I don't believe that magically we will skip the process, but my research, which is with actual human beings not from behind a computer screen, tells me that our process is taking way too long. It is highly discouraging and possibly suspect when  I personally know multiple people who have sought the same visa from the same embassy and have skated through no problems.  This is further shown in this forum when people magically go to the SAME embassy we are dealing will and dance out wth a visa. Either people are all lying or something is suspect when my husband has NO INELIGIBILITIES TO SPEAK of and is being overly processed.
