Affidavit of support for K1 Visa - bank info

Hello all,

We have our interview in a couple of weeks, and while putting together the required documents, I looked into the I-134 affidavit of support evidence instructions:

Quote

Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:

(1) Date account opened;

(2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and

(3) Present balance.

Neither of my banks were able to provide me with a letter stating the total amount deposited for the past year. Has anybody had any problems with that information not being present? Should I print bank statements?

We are good in the income requirements, but I was wondering if anybody recommended bringing last year's tax return, or W-2 to help support the claims?

Thank you.

Yes, bring the last 3 year's tax transcripts, easily downloaded online, then you don't need w-2s, but bring them anyway. And maybe the last 3 pay stubs. The tax transcripts are the most important thing from what I have seen on the forums here. Bank letter is more of a secondary evidence. I'm going to have my fiancee bring the bank letter only because I can walk into Citibank and they can print it out in a few minutes tops. If it wasn't that easy I would just skip the letter.

1st, move your money from those banks. To say useless ,is an understatement. I bank in a small credit Union and they did exactly as asked no problems with the letterhead and certificate of deposits and average amount for the time the account has been open.

Thanks for the insights, guys.

Regarding the bank statements, they provided me every other info except the "total amount deposited for the past year". But I hope with other recommended evidence items should suffice.

If your income is sufficient, you don't need anything from your bank at all.  You understand the meaning of the word "or", right?  ^_^

Exactly. You are the customer. They need to shop around for a better bank that can provide them with better services. We’ve never had a problem at our bank with foreign wire transfers, opening accounts, writing letters for us, etc....
