Curious about everyone's recent time between filing ROC and bio-metrics appointment. I am trying to plan a vacation for my wife and I and do't want to have a conflict. We file on February 15 and would like to take vacation mid to late April before green card expires in May.

  Thanks

It depends which service center you will sending your documents to. Currently CSC is taking about 3-4 months from filing ROC to Bio. However, they are also waiving some of the biometrics and using the ones from AOS

You mention before you wife's green card expires, you do know that once you file ROC you will receive an extension letter that extends the GC for 12 months (currently 18 months at CSC since they are so backed up), don't you?

Thanks for the reply

Yes, I do know this, I am more concerned with planning vacation and having bio-metrics appointment show up in the middle of our trip. Been trying to track through the timeline but either a lot of people do not keep their info up to date or are taking forever for bio appointment. We are Vermont service center

We filed in June 2017 and got Biometric appointment within 3 weeks. Then a lot of July-August I-751 filers all of the sudden started experiencing delays with their appointments, some even got waived. So you really can not predict what happens next year.

You have 90 days window to submit your I-751 petition. So, maybe, just get it ready before vacation, but send it out when you get back - as I understood you have time till middle of May, so there should be plenty of time to mail the package AFTER vocation.

A lot of people have done that to avoid any possible missed Notices and appointments with USCIS.
