:help:

I am in the middle of my AOS process (just send a response to a RFE).

Since me and my wife are expecting - my family (mom, dad and little brother) want to come to the US on a tourist visa to be here when our baby is born.

Is that possible for them to come?

Can that affect my immigration process?

What should they put in 37 - as my status - is K-1 Visa Holder OK? Or should they just put my alien number?

Thanx in advace.

Your family can visit in the U.S. with no problems whatsoever.

You cannot leave the U.S. and re-enter until your AOS is approved or you get AP (Advance Parole). As soon as you have your AOS approved and get your GC, you are free to travel and work.

Good luck.

They can come just fine, and it won't affect your immigration process in any way. For your status, you can put "AOS pending" or something like that.

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

Your presence and medical status is largely irrelevant. Your parents can come to the U.S. on whatever normal visa (or VWP) program that would otherwise apply.

If you were dying and near death or something, and they would otherwise be unable to get in through normal means, they could apply on some humanitarian basis - but other than that, you being here really doesn't affect their entry.

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
