Good morning everybody,

i don't know if there are already topics like this but i found only very old ones;

we filled our k1 petition in january and we expect to receive an answer about in August (i'm the beneficiary)

i'm from Italy and i'm an engineer; i received a good job offer for the next 5-6 months and i'm thinking to accept it;

is there any way i can delay the embassy process (Italy) ? because during the work period i won't be able i think to go have the interview;

so delay the entire process? without losin it,

and if yes could i also go in US with my ESTA before the interview? (for her birthday in october)

thanks in advance for your help

When you receive your approved I-129F it has an expiry date of 4 months from the date it was approved. In our case that was March 30 2018 approved, we received the embassy letter May 10th 2018 along with a copy of the approved I-129F with an expiry date of July 29th 2018.

With your timescale you could possibly get an embassy letter by late September/early October. Is there no way you could make it? It would be a shame to get to that point and delay it. I don't know about Italy specifically or the demand for medical or embassy interviews there. Here (UK) appointments are offered on a first come first served basis and you can choose an appointment to suit you.

Yes, you can travel to the US whilst going through the visa process. You provide proof of your commitment to return to Italy.

Before your approved petition is about to expire, you can call your Consulate and ask them to extend it for another 4 months, then in case you visa gets approved, it will be valid for a single entry for 6 months from the date of your medical. So assuming you get NOA2 in October, you might only have to extend your petition once and then have your interview within a decent timeframe.

And yes, you can travel on your ESTA, just make sure to prove strong ties to your home country.
