I was notified twice too on myUSCIS account (transferred on May 20 and May 22), but I've only received one letter so far.

Have you filed for citizenship?

No. I did not file for citizenship yet. I am eligible to file end of the month but I am not sure If I should wait or file. Did you file your citizenship?

That's up to you. Some people choose to wait until they get I-751 approved, but others prefer to have the two managed together. I filed for citizenship while my I-751 is pending. If you choose to do that, make sure you request it in writing.

Guys,

I am not in a stage where my head can think clear so maybe you guys can help guide me a bit.

Question: At this stage (waiting for i751 to be approved) is being employed important?

My job has gone south 4 weeks ago, since my boss told me in my face that I am a liability not an asset while I punched in more than 50 hours/week for him. This broke everything in me and I no longer want to work for him. I have money save up and plans to work for my own in a long time and I am just hanging to this job because I believe if I am labeled "employed", I would look good in those eyes of the case managers.

This is a false belief ?

Am I overthinking, should I really suck it up for another 2-3 months ?

Hi Frog107,

First of all, I want to clarify that this is my opinion. I might be right or I might be wrong, but I don't think employment status has any effect on i-751.

We file i-751 to remove conditions when we're conditional permanent residents who obtained this status through marriage to a U.S. citizen and immigrated the U.S. before the 2-year anniversary of our marriage.

The main purpose of i-751 is to ensure that we entered the marriage in good faith and that it's not a fraudulent marriage of convenience to solely obtain a green card.

When sending evidence along with the i-751 form to USCIS, it's recommended that we provide, among other things, joint financial statements. However, we don't do this to prove our financial situation, but to show that there's a life in common, a household, not separate lives.

PS: Unless the situation is critical, never stay at a job that makes you unhappy just for the money. Good luck with your job search!

I believe we have ALL been at this stage at one time or another....I was there just the later half of 2018!

It does not hold any bearing on your ROC but can be mentally stressful waking up daily to face that job.

I agree with both of our colleagues answers. The purpose of the ROC is to assess whether the marriage was entered in good faith. In any event, the USC spouse is already on the hook before the US government to support you above the line of poverty and if at any point we ask for benefits/support from the government, "Uncle Sam" might ask for some sort of reimbursement from the USC spouse. At least this is what was signed in one the forms right at the beginning of the GC process. If that indeed happens in reality or not, that's a whole other thing. The point is, if  you're fully employed or living out of your own savings, shouldn't be the issue at hand for the ROC. As a matter of fact, during my GC process, I was still going through my Masters degree so I wasn't employed and at no point this was questioned in my interview.

Hope it helps!

Hello guys!

My wife just received her Green Card! We recieved the "card being produced" on june 11. I didn't post immediately on the forum just to make sure it wasn't a glitch and just waited until recieved the actual card! We got NO RFE, NO Interview, Our case got transferred to Nebraska, she had biometrics appointment (we went together) and we mailed our ROC on july 11 of 2018

I wanna thank everybody for the good vibes and responses to our questions, thanks to Nebraska Service Center and God bless the US.

Any questions you can ask me, stay positive.

It's a great relief! We are so happy the we might go on a trip to Alaska or Hawaii to celebrate! Thank you

Well she never applied for N-400, my wife is currently learning English and she doesn't feel too confident for the verbal test, so once she knows more English she'll apply for N-400
