I didn’t apply for N-400. I don’t understand why it’s being moved to a “local” office instead of the big transfer centers. Anyone on the same boat?

I did not either, but this morning I received a notification as well saying my local office has received my case. I’m hoping this would make adjudication a lot faster, now that the cases were distributed to each centers. Fingers crossed that we all get approved pretty soon, if the trend keeps up. May and June filers getting approved 2 weeks ago. Should be our turn next.

Do you think we are getting interviews?

I really hope not. It sounded like a lot of us July filers got our cases transferred. Could be a way for uscis to expedite the approval process. But in the email update, there is this part that makes me think, maybeeee:

“On May 11, 2019, your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXXX, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by June 10, 2019...”

That please follow the instructions part in the notice makes me second guess about the interview part.

At this point, we have to wait for the letter for the instructions. It's weird the case is transferred to local if it's not for an interview.

Lot's of cases were transferred in the past few months. Doesn't necessarily mean an interview.

Agreed.

specially when they changed their procedures/ policies ? to let adjudicators opt to waive interviews for those who already been interviewed recently (ie aos).

at least that’s what I’m hoping anyway

I hope for you guys, and for others similarly situated, i.e., had AOS interview. Back in 2012, I know that seems like forever ago..., we had the AOS interview from hell at the Seattle field office, primarily due to the IO. He tried to rain on our parade, but we eventually prevailed. Yeah, we were free for ~18 months, then started gearing up for ROC. Was hoping that it would be a walk in the park. Well, it was a walk, and plant yourself down and wait.....wait.....wait for the grass to grow. I understand that now it is even more protracted. After about a year of waiting, I contacted CISOMB to check on the status of our ROC petition. CISOMB came back saying nothing out of the ordinary, but they would keep the file open for review. I swear right after getting the CISOMB response, we got a RFE notice from CSC, asking for more marriage bonafides. So, where I had sent in the quarterly comprehensive financial statements, I sent in every monthly one also. The first ROC package weighed around six pounds, the RFE response package weighed in almost four pounds. We had had it with their shenanigans, I included a letter basically saying, get on with it. Either approve us, or decline us. If you decline us we will see you in immigration court. It was good for our relationship, it galvanized us against the USCIS nonsense. We got our 10-yr GCs shortly thereafter.

It appears now that USCIS has gone into slow-motion at all levels. I would venture that they are overwhelmed with applications/petitions/etc. I think evidence that they are using this as one way to lighten the load is rather than an AOC interview and then an ROC interview, waiving the AOC interview for those cases determined to be appropriate, and then have an ROC interview.

Best wishes on getting through with "watching paint dry" process soon for you and your family.

Now really curious what the difference is, and what the letters will say....

As soon as I get my letter I will let y’all know.

Does everyone know if a transferred  notice letter will mean RFE or INTERVIEW?

I hope neither! *fingers crossed* Once I receive mine, I will also post here what it will say.

On the other hand, since it was transferred to the local office anyways, maybe filing the N-400 when it’s due is not a bad idea?
