Hi All,

I have seen in other posts and other websites that the receipt number can be broken down into different segments. First 3 letters represent service center, followed by first two digits for fiscal year and then 3 numbers for the day of the fiscal year. My receipt number starts with  WAC182295. I am July 2018 filer, NOA dated 7/13. If I follow the pattern desribed above, my NOA date would be the 229th day of the fiscal year (which starts on 10/1/2017). However, it doesn't make sense because 229th day would fall in May 2018.

Am I missing anything here? Just curious if other July 2018 filers have similar receipt numbers.

Any inputs are appreciated!

Whatever it is! It doesn't matter, all it matter is that you have to wait and watch.

Hello,

I sent my package on 10/12/2018, package received on 10/14/2018, check cashed on 10/18/2018. I got no NOA, no bio letter since then. It been 2 months now. I called 3 times, no one can find my files. I sent my package to Arizona. Can I get a stamp from an info pass, since my green card is expired?

Thank you

htcar,

do you have the tracking number which courier shipped your documents, didn't they give you tracking number? you have to contact the courier as soon as possible, you have to take action whatever it is the more you delay the more it's going to be longer and uneasy process, if i were you, i would go right away first to the courier office after i found out that they can't find my documents,  if you don't have the tracking number NOR they gave you, then i would look for resubmission as soon as possible, lets see what other expert say about it but don't set down and wait, do something right away, this is what i would do if this happened to me

Try this site: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Requires two-factor authentication when you set up account. The site you gave typically gives me either "invalid" or can't provide info on status.....

We filed 7/25, received 8/3..... nothing since; however, no one else has heard anything either - so, no need to panic/worry yet. If others start hearing something and you don't have any word (particularly others that filed after you - say August / September)- then start to worry and would warrant a phone call.

I think we all come here fearing the worst as we haven’t had updates after receiving the NOA in July/August, but it’s always reassuring that there are many of us in this situation.

I hope the new year will speed things up. In the meantime, let us have patience, health, and happy holidays 😉

i have a question if anyone can help me out towards making the decision, i am currently employed but i am about to start work as an contractor for a private business( basically a business partner but without any investment so i have to work as an contractor and have to file 1099 form instead of w-2), my green card is already expired and i applied for renewal in july, does this thing effect on filing process besides changing the physical address and submitting 1099 form instead of w-2 at the time of filing the taxes?

If you're moving, notify USCIS. If you're not sure about filing your taxes, use tax preparation service. You should be fine.

Update: I went to Canada for the holidays, driving. At passport control I presented my passport, letter, and expired green card. No problem at all. The only thing was the officer surprised that the letter went from 12 months to 18 months (he didn’t know but didn’t say much).

no more updates, no biometrics, no nothing.
