Hi everyone, I applied for my spouse for cr1 case.  my spouse went to UK for studies  for 4 years.  when I filled out I-130 I never realized to put his UK address on the form since he came back 5 years ago. my petition got approved. On ds260 I only provided the home country permanent address where my husband reside NOW.  I'm very upset about not providing his past UK address where he lived for almost 4 years. however, all documents got approved at NVC. just waiting for interview. can anyone assist please if this can trouble in our interview for not mentioning anywhere that he went to UK in the past. any experience please do share. JUST TO CLARIFY THAT HE STAYED THERE LEGALLY . THERE IS NO NEGATIVE ACTIVITY UNDER HIS NAME.

It could require some explaining at the consulate.  If the background checks show a significant error in what he reported, there could be a problem.  "approval at NVC" means nothing.  They only gather documents and send them to the consulate.  The CO will take everything into consideration.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

If background checks or his passport indicates he lived somewhere else than where you reported, he will be asked to explain why he didn't indicate that on the DS-260.....

thank you. it's a marriage base case so we are trying to gather everything related to our marriage. I'm not sure if NVC going to ask his travel history. or NVC have access to check his previous travel to a different country. His old passport was expired so he got new passport.

And consular officers frequently ask for all passports.  And, how is he going to explain a four year gap in his life at home?  And his educational credentials from the UK?  Security checks can easily reveal enough about travel history that it will be next to impossible for this not to come up at interview.  Compoundng the problem of omitting it in the first place by continuing to lie about it (e.g., when you fill out the DS-260 and have to list the previous countries where he's lived, questions about education, etc.) will only result in great grief and legal problems.

what if co does not ask about travel?

It wasn't travel --you said he lived there. That's much more than travel.  And, visa forms you fill out ask about prior travel and countries where you've lived.  So, unless you plan to continue to knowingly lie about it, it WILL come up
