OK, I am officially fed up with these elites.........Peter Fonda's tweet demonstrates the degree to which some of these elites hate our legally elected President.  Fonda's tweet is an attack on a child, his parents, our president, and our way of government....it's time for this nonsense to stop.......

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

So someone who threatens violent rape of a child doesn't need to go to jail?  These elite celebs know that they have a soapbox from which to spew their hate.  It HAS to stop......now.

That was literally what I was about to say.

Not that I condone Roseanne's comments either, but it will be interesting to see if anyone takes his business off the table, when the same was done to Roseanne for making derogatory remarks about someone on the other side of politics.

This one particularly sways a bit more anger, in my opinion. Why bring the kid into it. That's disgusting.

Håll ut, y'all.

I agree that someone from the elitist class has to pay, I am just not sure if they belong in prison.  Maybe a room with rubber walls is more appropriate.

The tweets are disgusting, but they aren't necessarily a crime. I'm not sure you can arrest someone for putting out a message saying "Someone should do this...etc...". I believe they'd have to show evidence that it was a credible threat, or that it was truly an "incitement to imminent lawless action" (Just googled that ;)).

Other ways that it can be addressed (that I would support):

1. His employers can stop working with him

2. Viewers can stop watching his movies (which would then potentially lead to #1 for less altruistic reasons from the point of view of the employers)

3. Twitter can deem the tweets to violate their code of conduct and ban his account

I'd support all three.

I'd support all three.

Encouraging others to commit crimes can be considered conspiracy.  In this case he:

1. Encouraged kidnapping 2 immediate family members of the President.

2.  Encouraged rape of a child.

3.  Encouraged imprisonment of a child and member of the President's family

These were made willfully and knowingly.  They are covered by specific codes.  Defendants may not defend against such charges by stating that the threat was accompanied by religious or political statements.

Yes, I think there is sufficient grounds to detain him, order a mental evaluation, and possible criminal charges.

https://www.computerweekly.com/opinion/Criminal-Law-Are-Twitter-Threats-Taken-Seriously - Interesting article on the topic.

Seems like there is at least a precedent for criminal charges (65 people were charged for making threats against Obama). So in the end this may indeed go somewhere. Seems like it was forwarded to the Secret Service (appropriately), so we'll see.

(I'm not trying to make this a discussion of Obama vs Trump, it was just the first article I found on the topic. I would fully expect the Secret Service to apply the same standards they applied to Obama and his family, to Trump and his family).

"He doesn't have a birth certificate, or if he does, there's something on that certificate that is very bad for him. Now, somebody told me -- and I have no idea if this is bad for him or not, but perhaps it would be -- that where it says 'religion,' it might have 'Muslim.' And if you're a Muslim, you don't change your religion, by the way."

Doesn't really seem relevant as I am not sure this would have incited anyone to do anything other than raise questions as compared to what Peter Fonda wrote.
