Cha Gio, I *think* she can pick up packet 3 at the consulate. My fiancee made a mistake on her DS230 part 1, and was able to come pick up a blank copy at the consulate. If you're picking up the whole package 3, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe others here can confirm?

In my case it took about 1.5 months from NOA2 to packet 3 receipt.

My wife lives in HCMC. She called them up and asked them if she could come to the consulate to pick the package up. They told her that they sent it out on May 2nd, and she should wait until June to ask any further questions or picking it up.

Can my wife just go ahead and pick the package up at the Consulate anyways? She only lives like 15 minutes away from it.

Ummm, I used face this situation, but I came directly to the information window to check. They said to me that they just sent out the mail to my address. My address was in PhuNhuan Dist., it means two days for the mail goes to me. However, I could not receive packet 3 until two weeks later.

In this situation, your wife may have to wait two more weeks to see what will happen. While waiting for packet 3, you can ask someone here if they have the packet 3 of K3 to fulfill your information first, you can prepare the form and check it carefully. When packet 3 comes, she only needs to fulfill the forms and send back to Consulate immediately in the day she receives.

If it passed two months from the date you received NOA2 by email but no package yet, your wife should come to the information window to pick up package 3. She should bring along her the NOA2 to show them the time you received. You should send to her the copy of NOA2 by email.

I think she will have packet 3 within another two weeks.

Hi Cha Gio

I have similar time line with you and my wife already received package 3 on May 03. You should have your wife come to the Consulate and ask for the Package 3.

My wife came to an attorney office and had them help filling the applications / making sure everything is correct and sufficient. It only costs 200K Dong (13 USD). They also consult my wife what to prepare for the interview.

I think it's worth it. With less than 15 USD, you can buy some peace of mind. If you want the address of that attorney office, please PM me. I will ask my wife and answer you later.

my fiance paid 100USD for a similar service :( . We did the package 3 together and when she turned it in, they rejected it, so she went to the closest service nearby and they charged her 100USD (1.6M dong or something). Oh well, not much I can do about that; she panicked, and didnt want to bother calling me.

That sucks. The nearby services always jack up the price cuz they know you really need it. But anyway, you have package 3 turned in. That's most important thing.

Here is the address of the Service that my wife went to: 47 Nguyen Kim, District 10, HCM City.

My wife does not remember the name of the service nor its phone number. Once I got updated from her, I will you guys know.

Correction!

Well, it's June. My wife called back today (June 3rd) and asking if she could come to the Consulate to pick up her Package 3. The lady told her "Please wait another 2-3 weeks before calling back." According to their record, they mailed out the package on May 2nd. This is frustrating. Why couldn't they just let her go there and pick it's up. *shrudder*

Cha Gio, maybe they get back logs. From the past experience, HCMC usually wait until they have enough files in the middle of the month and send it out after that. ALL you have to do is tell your love one to gather all the requirement paperworks for now. The onlything you have to turn in is the DS-230 Part I & II. YOu can download it from the internet and complete it. One more part of the form is said that you have receive the package. Let me look up that part and i will post it here for you.

Common man, it is really simple. Why waste your money on those Services??? Everything you can get is from this Forum and the Example Forms? So what is the big deal to go there and waste your money ?? The only thing you need to turn in is the form DS-230 Part I and II and the DS-2001 form that i post up there. Make sure you put in your case # on the DS-2001 form.

For my case, i turned it in before i received it. I went to the consulate on the Dec - 22, 2007 and turn it in the same day. Cuz i got everything filled out ahead. My Package 3 did not show up to my wife door until the Dec 28, 2007.

the reason I mentioned it was because he/she may not have the forms, and the fiance(e) may not know what to do. I remember filling out my fiance's ds-230, but never seen the ds-2001; she was eventually rejected by the consulate when she did not have the ds2001, so she paid to have it done.

200,000 (kelvin's referral) is not a bad price to have someone type it for you; all you need to do is drop it off.

My wife went to the info desk at the consulate and picked up the package. I guess we will have to wait another 2 months or so for package 4 now. We have all the other papers ready. Thank you all for your help.

Please confirm that your wife has returned the P3 to HCMC? Based on your response, no where it says she did! If you didn't return P3, P4 will never arrive! JUST FYI
