My case has been forwarded to Ho Chi Minh Consulate for a month now, but my wife hasn't received her package 3 yet. I looked through a few people's timelines/signatures and noticed many received them within a couple of weeks. Should I give them a call? Can my wife in Vietnam call them to check on the status or do I have to do it? Thanks.

Violet18ac3,

Cha Gio's case is a K3 - (husband and wife's case not Fiancee case) It will take a little bit longer than K1 case and it needs to file more forms. For K1's case, you will need to file more form, once the fiance(e) gets to the state for 2 Years condition Green Card. For K3, they will get the green card when they get to the State.

I called up the consulate. A lady told me that package 3 were sent out on May 2nd and to call back in a month if my wife doesn't receive it. I was gonna ask her to see whether or not my wife could go pick it up, but she hung up way too fast. I guess i'll call them again tomorrow. Thank you all for the replies.

Hi Cha Gio

I have similar time line with you and my wife already received package 3 on May 03. You should have your wife come to the Consulate and ask for the Package 3.

My wife came to an attorney office and had them help filling the applications / making sure everything is correct and sufficient. It only costs 200K Dong (13 USD). They also consult my wife what to prepare for the interview.

I think it's worth it. With less than 15 USD, you can buy some peace of mind. If you want the address of that attorney office, please PM me. I will ask my wife and answer you later.

my fiance paid 100USD for a similar service :( . We did the package 3 together and when she turned it in, they rejected it, so she went to the closest service nearby and they charged her 100USD (1.6M dong or something). Oh well, not much I can do about that; she panicked, and didnt want to bother calling me.

That sucks. The nearby services always jack up the price cuz they know you really need it. But anyway, you have package 3 turned in. That's most important thing.

Here is the address of the Service that my wife went to: 47 Nguyen Kim, District 10, HCM City.

My wife does not remember the name of the service nor its phone number. Once I got updated from her, I will you guys know.

Where is your wife living?? If she is living in HCMC, she should go directly to the Consulate to check with them.

It took me 2 months to receive package 3 from the time of approved NOA2 sent by email.

K3 case is only longer than K1 ones when it is at USCIS but not so much (2 months). Nowadays, K1 case at Vietnam is getting a lot of troubles. You can see at some nearest K1-cases on our website.

My wife lives in HCMC. She called them up and asked them if she could come to the consulate to pick the package up. They told her that they sent it out on May 2nd, and she should wait until June to ask any further questions or picking it up.

Can my wife just go ahead and pick the package up at the Consulate anyways? She only lives like 15 minutes away from it.
