Hi,

So my spouse filled taxes for the year 2017 jointly using my income in Sweden. Yesterday we got a message with the heading "need W2 sponsor forms" the message then went on to say

W-2 forms are missing/incomplete for the year(s): Please submit every Form W-2 for Jo's tax return for 2017.

We already submitted everything; W2, federal income tax return for previous 3 years,  proof of employment. Does anyone know what to do in this situation, they seem to be confused because taxes were filed jointly.

They want your equivalent of the w2 since you filed MFJ.

Honestly this is a reason why tax return transcripts are best.

Maybe but unless this income is going to continue from the same source after coming to the US, they really need a new affidavit stating $0 current income, AND an applicable statement of earnings from the foreign employer.   On the new affidavit, be sure to enter the numbers from line 22 of each 1040 in the tax section.
