FBI agent Peter Strzok ‘escorted’ from FBI building, lawyer confirms

Peter Strzok, the FBI agent under fire over a series of anti-Trump text messages, was ‘escorted’ from the FBI building, his lawyer confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday.

Strzok's lawyer Aitan Goelman argued that even though his client has "played by the rules," he has been targeted by "unfounded personal attacks, political games and inappropriate information leaks."

"All of this seriously calls into question the impartiality of the disciplinary process, which now appears tainted by political influence," a statement from Goelman said.

He said that Strzok "has complied with every FBI procedure, including being escorted from the buidling as part of the ongoing internal proceedings." The attorney did not say exactly when Strzok was escorted out.

"Instead of publicly calling for a long-serving FBI agent to be summarily fired, politicians should allow the disciplinary process to play out free from political pressure," Goelman said. "Our leaders and the public should be very concerned with how readily such influence has been allowed to undermine due process and the legal protections owed to someone who has served his country for so long. Pete Strzok and the American people deserve better."

I have to be honest I thought he was out of the building a long time ago. I knew Mueller had ejected him from his investigation, but I had assumed that the FBI would have also done so, or at least put him on "gardening leave" for the time being.

 

While there is no evidence (to my knowledge) that his personal opinions influenced his work, he certainly was acting unprofessional in several ways and should have been let go a long time ago.

No evidence?  The complete "against the book" way they handled the Hillary matter seems to be at the very least circumstantial evidence considering he was the lead investigator on that.  I don't think there will be a smoking gun memo that says I let her go because of my political bias, but most people can see through the double talk.

I was actually mostly thinking about his initial involvement in Mueller's investigation.

 

If we want to talk about the Hillary case, if he was indeed using his political bias to influence his decisions, he should also be fired for incompetence. They didn't do Hillary any favours at the FBI. If anything, the way they handled that investigation helped Trump get elected.

 

Regardless as I already said - I'm glad he's gone and equally surprised it took so long.

Regardless as I already said - I'm glad he's gone and equally surprised it took so long.

The person that made that decision was fired, but no one liked that Trump did that either.  So much hatred, so much hatred.  We really don't know how much impact Strzok had on the Mueller matter, but it seems he was left there a while even though the text were known internally.  It does seem that the revelation of the text forced a judge to recuse themselves and seems to create a permanent delay in the Flynn plea deal.

 

“Mr. Strzok, who is considered one of the FBI’s most experienced counterintelligence agents, was reassigned to a supervisory job in the bureau’s human resources division after Mr. Mueller learned about the inquiry into the text messages,” the Journal reported.

This implies that someone in the Mueller investigation knew about the Strzok/Page connection and the incredibly biased text (it is optics), and only acted when the someone (presumably the WSJ) started inquiring about them.

The suspicion is that he doctored Witness Reports.

This means obstruction of justice, evidence-tampering, and more.

 

He was the lead investigator in the Michael Flynn and Hillary interrogations.

Presumably, if he was ordered to doctor reports, he intends to rat out bigger fish.

One can foresee headline news that even the Lamestream Media won't be able to suppress.
