How did you guys go about activating informed delivery for beneficiary? In a lot of AOS posts I notice people list informed delivery as part of the package, but I can't get myself verified online (because the company doing the online identity check obviously doesn't 'know' me) and in person identity verification doesn't go through unless you present a US ID (US passport, DL etc.).

 

So I started to wonder how the people that managed to get it to activate went about it?

Usually you have to have somekinda credit recordin any of the 3 buros to even  be able to use that feature, because that is how they verify your identity. I may be mistaken, but i think it is Equifax, they use for identity

12/28/2018                Interview has been scheduled. Waiting for notification with date by snail mail

I'll give it a try, last time they didn't even know what informed delivery was at the post office and asked to explain it while the promo poster was hanging behind them. Then it didn't go through because of lack of US ID.

As far as I can tell, informed delivery records anything going to the address. I set it up under my husbands name cause I was trying to track his NOA for ROC, but it also shows mail delivered for me as well even though I didn't provide my information. So whoever is the USC can just set it up and it should show anything for you as well.

Yeah, that was what we settled on in the end, but roughly half a year later and still nothing has popped up on her account (USPS simply says 'we are aware there are outages', I personally think something went wrong but trying to move USP to look into it would horrify even Kafka) so when I saw informed delivery pop up on a lot of peoples package list I figured let's kill two birds with one stone (i.e. get a working one on my name and add another thing on the pile of proof).  

 

We'll see what they say, can't hurt to try again I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It worked out, Dutch passport and car title and IRS letter for ITIN was all I needed. Apparently it matters who is helping you.

 

(Oh and the lady took about half an hour to make it happen, apparently they don't use those PDA's much. I was the 2nd one she did this with).

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

^_^ Figured I should report back for people that are also still in 'limbo'. Next challenge is drivers license, since CA DMV will normally give you one that is only valid until the end of I-94 (even if you have NOA1), I think I'm gonna go for CA's AB-60 license, which is intended for undocumented immigrants.

Better not -- it might incur "procuring governmental documents/benefits under false pretenses" or whatever the charge would be.  Avoid expediency that you might later regret.
