Oath ceremony without the notice latter

Hi everyone,

I have my oath ceremony already scheduled, DHS call me and told me all the information of where, when and time..... The notice latter was mailed last Thursday, I haven't receive it yet, so my question is, what happens if I don't receive it in time? Can I show up at the ceremony without the notice since I know the day and everything?

Should I call them and let them know that I didn't receive the notice?

I don't want my ceremony to be delayed, I'm traveling by mid July. Thanks

Odd, all my wife's N400 letters appear under the documents tab on the case history

The documents tab is not showing up for me, just case status and case history

Oh.....Sorry about that, worth a shot.

Have you had the account for awhile or did you sign up today?  Just thinking maybe if there's no place to populate the PDF they ignore uploading.

Hope you get it.  NBC letters to us have been taking 6 days

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help, I have a account but in the other USCIS homepage, I just created this one you told me today!.....I have plenty of time to receive the letter, I'm just asking to know my options in case I don't receive it 😉

Just one more thought, maybe give it a day or two and see if the tab populates now that you have an account....

If the letter was  mailed out on Thursday, it's only been 3 business days since it's been sent out (not including the date of mailing or the weekend)...wait a bit longer before contacting anyone.  In general it takes 7-10 business days to receive mailed notices according to USCIS's website.  I'm sure you'll get it soon!

That being said, yes you need the letter to attend the ceremony (and also they generally ask to see the letter when getting past security to enter the building).  Also, the letter has the questionnaire that needs to filled out on the back of it...it can be hard to remain patient when you're so close to the "finish line" (believe me, I know) but hang in there!

Wait a minute----just reread your original post....you said "DHS called me"...

DHS is normally not in the habit of arbitrarily phoning applicants and letting them know their date/time/location of their oath ceremonies in advance...are you sure this was a phone call from them specifically (and not a scam)?  Or this was a call-back you received from an inquiry you made with a L2 officer at USCIS?

It was a call from a private number, since I don't take call from private number they left a message for me which reads "Good afternoon, this message is for W***"""""". I'm calling from the Department of Homeland Security regarding your naturalization ceremony, which will be scheduled for July 3rd, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at (location blah blah). You should receive a letter in the mail within 1 or 2 weeks. Thank you.

It sounds pretty legit, nice English accent, and a day after that call, my status change to "oath ceremony notice was mailed"

Interesting---I guess because the oath ceremony date was relatively close the IO did a courtesy call.

Keep an eye on the mail, hope you get the letter sooner rather than later!

I see my case is a rare one to you! So I will wait for that letter and see if the information of when and where is accurate, and I'll give you the heads-up! 😉 Thanks for everything.

Not that it never happens, it does, just not common for them to call with info on their own accord (more often happens when it's a call-back from an inquiry made by the applicant first).
